this is a hard one... I like both a lot. as far as movies go it's easily LOTR... but with Books included it's a bit split... tolkein's writing style can be frustrating at times. where in the movies it bounces back and forth between plots in the books you stay on one plot so long and then it goes back in time and flips over and you just want to get back to what you were reading before the flip. lol.
and if it were about living in said worlds I feel HP is more appealing... everyone is a wizard and shit... whereas in LOTR most everyone is just a dude. and if you're a woman other than a select few you're fucked. lol.
