I feel like Benedict Cumberbatch has fallen into a hole of being typecast as quirky, slightly autistic dudes. He's really good at it, so I can see why.
Does that mean they are going to put the clock forward in spring as usual and then leave it like that, or keep it backwards like it is now? If it's the latter I will never forgive them.
So we were supposed to leave the EU on the 29th March. It was signed into law. And yet here we are, still in with no signs of leaving anytime soon! Gina Miller, where are you? I thought you cared about Parliamentary law. Fucking lol.
MP's recently passed a bill through Parliament to delay Brexit, and it passed with a single vote majority. The irony of a 1 vote majority being conclusive, but a 2 million majority in a referendum being up for debate.
The good thing is it's not binding, and only compels the PM to seek a delay. And also, there are no guarantees that Europe will agree to a delay. Emperor Macron seems to be against the idea.
I think the EU believe that by playing hardball and refusing a delay they will force our Parliaments hand and push us closer to a second referendum, or to even cancelling Brexit completely. This is because Parliament signed a bill into law saying we can't leave without a deal. So if Europe steer us in a direction in which No Deal is the only likely outcome, they reason that MP's will do all they can to prevent it, even if that means granting a second referendum. So the theory goes anyway.
And now Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn are teaming up to try and negotiate a deal with Europe. What a dream team! Labour and Conservatives are both absolute trash.
Tony Benn was right about the EU, the longer we stayed in, the harder it would become to leave. At the moment, I'd say it's a toss up between us getting a watered down to the point of staying in Brexit, or no deal '"crashing out". And I'm hoping we crash out.
Oh also, article 13 passed. A law nobody wanted proposed by people nobody can vote for. Isn't the European Union fantastic?
