I thought the new idol was an idol that was put there because of the merge? One for each original tribe and one at the merge camp. I don't know much about their procedure though
This is irrelevant because they rehid Reynold's first idol and then again the second time he played it. There have been 3 idols total I think.
I hope they stay out at this point. But, I still think Cochran will win the whole thing. He's not going to be anyone's main target until closer to the end if he even becomes a target.

The idol rehiding is the only reason Russell made it to the finale in Samoa and it may do the same for Malcolm...I have no clue.

Essentially this. Because he played it post-merge, Reynold's second idol shouldn't have been rehidden.
Also, I miss the days when they were buried, and stuff like that.
