Havo @ 6/6/2018 16:42
Hey I created a Letterboxd account, Havo

Still setting it up. My movie tastes seem to be a little different than most of y'alls here. My fav Genre is Film Noirs, I love old movies mainly because they rely more on a good story and not so much on sex and action. I love mysteries also and my taste in comedies is somewhat prudish I guess you could say. Not a big fan of slapstick or just crude stuff. Anyways looking forward to checking out some of you guys stuff.

Letterboxd helps with that tbh. I've watched way more movies so far this year than I usually do. Creating little challenges for yourself or finding community challenges on letterboxd helps a lot

EXAMPLE. Sugarboogerz and I already decided to do this June genre challenge thing for July, but for that month we went through each genre and added either the highest rated movie neither of us had seen OR the most popular move neither of us had seen

So the most popular animated (Moana) or the highest rated animated (Grave of the Fireflies). We went with Grave of the Fireflies, something I would've likely never watched but now I'm excited to. It was fun to force ourselves to always choose one of the two no matter what it was

Or join FE Watches with us! Good way to commit to watching some movies you otherwise definitely wouldn't have

Ranking is one of my favorite things as well! I often do marathons of directors and then rank their films afterwards. Have done it so far with;

-Stanley Kubrick (my first full-viewing marathon)
-Sofia Coppola
-Gregg Araki

Am planning on doing it with Koreeda films soon, others I have planned to marathon include Wong Kar Wai, Denis Villeneuve, Luca Guadagnino, Paul Thomas Anderson, Gaspar Noe, Lars Von Trier, David Lynch, etc.

Am actually gonna add my rankings on my Letterboxd lists!

'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

He likes his sandwiches to be Turkey and Swiss. Triangle cut. Let vern have his crust. Poison the part Rodney eats.

Letterboxd says these are the top 10 most popular movies among my Letterboxd friends (aka all of you guys). Popularity means you've seen it or rated it or put it on lists or added it to your diary thing. Basically anytime you do anything with a movie it gets a bump in popularity

TOP TEN:

1. Alien
2. Jaws
3. Get Out
4. Lady Bird
5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
6. Die Hard
7. Pulp Fiction
8. Guardians of the Galaxy
9. Black Panther
10. Mad Max: Fury Road

so now you know

I've started watching through all of the superhero movies that have been released and I'm cooking along.

I don't like the rating system on Letterboxd.

I need more than 5 stars, I'd much prefer 10 stars, I wind up giving everything 3 stars. lol.

The thing is if it's a 1 or 2 star movie, there's a good chance I turn it off and don't bother to finish it. So
