Applications are officially closed. :)

I'll be finalizing the cast this evening and contacting everyone tonight or tomorrow.

Closed ID, you mean like playing under an alias so no one else knows who you really are? I'm so out of touch with ORG lingo. :(

You can play under an alias or be open about your identity, whichever you prefer.

Only need a couple more apps before we begin. Once I get these last few, I'll contact everyone to get their info confirmed, and then we'll get started!

Just a small update:

Got a few more applications over the last few days, and they all look great so far, but keep 'em coming! I've contacted everyone who has applied so far, so if I haven't spoken to you that means I didn't get your app and you may want to resend it.

A few investigator archetypes seem to be especially popular. Specifically: The gay guy, the criminology student, the disabled person, the over-the-top zany character. If you want to apply as one of these, please make sure you include a back-up investigator or two so I can can "shop around" to get some more variety in the group. There's also a significant lack of male investigators so far, so I highly recommend adding at least one male possibility to your app.

Eager to get started!

Yeah, it's pretty decent. A little more "police procedural" than MiSTX, and they have to eliminate all their suspects by deduction rather than answering random questions. I seem to remember the townies' acting being a lot better than the US version?

Yeah, I've been trying to track down a copy forever. The one that keeps getting uploaded to YouTube is missing large swathes of the first couple episodes, I think.

Most definitely, Nofo. I'd say the interacting with townies will probably be the most significant factor in the investigation.

I don't think there have been many games/ORGs based on it. It faded into obscurity pretty quickly after
Spoiler+

I think the premise works well for gaming, though!

In the quiet town of Colleen, Ohio, a killer is on the loose.
A reward has been offered to twelve ordinary people. They
have been sent to Colleen to play the killer's twisted game.
Now they must enter the mind of a killer and and solve the
mystery before they are eliminated one-by-one …

Murder in Small Town X is based upon the 2001 FOX television series of the same name. Part reality TV competition and part murder mystery, MiSTX draws heavily upon genres such as the psychological thriller, the police procedural, the "cozy mystery", and the classic whodunnit.

Players will be thrust into the roles of amateur investigators and tasked with catching the killer terrorizing a small town. As outsiders in an insular community, the players must slowly unravel the longstanding web of secrets and relationships that exists between the suspects and the victims. At the same time they will be forced to use their intuition, investigative abilities and social skills to avoid being targeted by their fellow investigators and eliminated by the killer.

At the end of the game, only one player will remain to catch the killer—Will it be you?

Applications are open!
