My plan for the reward challenge was to do just enough to not come in last place or seem like I put no effort at all, but not enough to actually win and have the responsibility of picking tribes, and somehow I ended up having to do just that. But it's okay, I ended up with all the non-duds + two easy boots in Dumbledore and Hagrid so it's ok.
It's hard to decipher the exact dynamics of the tribe because we have such an easy boot if we were to lose that not a lot of people have been very open about strategizing. The only ones I've had any sort of game talk have been Ron and Gilderoy but even that's a stretch. I'd actually go as far as to say that us three, probably with Fred included are ~the core~ of this tribe, but it's hard to know what's really in store for us until trust has to be tested.
Our performance on this challenge was really sad. A failure of epic proportions. My power went out so I had to do the entire challenge on the dark, with the brightest turned all the way down to preserve battery and with shitty hotspot and I
still did better than half the tribe. This is not me saying I shone bright which I didn't. Far from it, but wow were the others slow af. We had to restart like three times on some threads, which wasn't really anyone's fault, just the internet being laggy for some, but that was the final nail in our coffin. Whatever, I'm not even upset that we lost since this is an easy tribal, but I'm annoyed we spent two hours for nothing. On the bright side, it gave us this gem.
Speaking of Hagrid, I don't know where you got him from but he's a hoot. Our first (and only) interaction was like four messages long but it was still gold.
I don't think I came off as actually serious when I said I was slightly under the moon? I was clearly joking, but seems like the joke flew over his head. I was so confused at first as to why he asked me that in the first place but I feel bad now for laughing because he seems genuinely nice.
I was talking to Ron the other day about the idols twist and all, particularly about the Ravenclaw one. He told me about the secret advantage he found, but he posted too late so he missed it. Whatever, no big deal, but he brought up a really good point. The Ravenclaw idol is most likely located on one of the chests of the rooms we have to visit to get the ingredients for the potion. Of course there's quite a lot of chests, so that's where the clues would come in. I don't see where else they could be. We still haven't talked abou sharing our vault guesses, I don't even know why, but it's gonna have to happen eventually so if I have to take the initiative I will, though right now I only feel comfortable bringing it up to Ron and Gilderoy.
Speaking of, I probably consider those two my closest allies right now. If I had to choose though I would pick Ron, even though I talk to Gilderoy more, but Gilderoy comes off as very messy and I'd rather have someone more reliable by my side. I do think we're solid for now so I'm not worried about that just yet. I feel very nice about my position here. Rita claims I'm the one she has talked to the most, which yikes because I don't think we really talk that often? But she's fine otherwise. Fred is also cool and we have a good relationship going, and surprisingly Draco has turned out to be quite pleasant. Gilderoy can't stand him though so I don't know if it's just me.
Anyways, this is a prretty straightforward round and if anyone but Dumbledore leaves I will be
very surprised.
