i wasn't really around for the drama but i'm happy with the result of snape leaving because mira and amos are more interesting characters to me. im excited to see what happens with miras idol going forward and amos to me comes across as a dark horse a lil. like he might be utr for a bit and then have a breakout later but also im pretty bad at predicting stuff and keeping up with whos in what sort of position so maybe i'm off.
and also i agreed with kreacher about the manufactured drama (which has mainly been at the hands of snape and lockhart) like, it's fun to watch the drama unfold to an extent but like kreacher said on slack - the genuine emotional reactions of ron are so much more interesting to see play out than the "lets kill a VL fave or edgic contender this round" strategy or whatever.
also semi-related to that, which i don't think i've expressed anywhere before but its something that has always annoyed me a little bit. i don't rly like it when players talk about and refer to their own and other peoples edgic predictions or like especially their desired edgic goals for certain rounds or w/e while the game is ongoing. it like... takes me out of it as a viewer and makes them seem somewhat in-genuine. like they're only doing things to come across a certain way.
like when i'm playing, the last thing i'm thinking about is what edgic i'm going to get? cus it doesn't affect how i'm going to play. i'm always going to just do what i think is best for my game or what my instincts tell me to do.
like can you imagine watching survivor and someone being like "its time for my CPP breakout episode!!!"idk. it would really put me off that person. its like theyre breaking the forth wall or something??? idk if that makes sense to anyone else.
then again its not THAT big of an issue. its more of a pet peeve, and less of a dealbreaker type thing for me. i guess for more seasoned org players who know/care more about edgic it might not be something you can switch off in your brain. i'm still learning the ins and outs of edgic so maybe my opinion on this will change or adapt later and ill end up doing the same thing but atm but it just rubs me the wrong way a little. sort of like alias guessing rubs people the wrong way. like you just wish people would NOT factor that into their gameplay but i guess on the other hand it can be hard not to.
i totally understand what you’re saying. i don’t think i did a very good job of explaining why it annoys me. maybe forget about the word ingenuine. i don’t think that’s the right word. i understand using it as a tool to be more self aware and analytical of your own game and i can see the benefits to that but i suppose what i’m getting at is that it comes across super gamebotty to read as a PW and sort of breaks the illusion of the org being an actual game of survivor that i’m watching.
honestly the more i try to explain it the more i realize that i’m being a bit hypercritical. i think it’s just a nit picky thing.
wait so lockhart is telling everyone snape went home with the hufflepuff idol but lockhart is under the impression that he didn’t and he thinks he’s lying to everyone about it so they think it’s out of play...
snape did go home with the hufflepuff idol though, right??
