In that pairs challenge just now, Kate and I got locked in a 15-20 minute debate about her needing to throw in order to guarantee that the losers tribe, even in a worst case scenario arrangement of Chris/Tyler/Corey, would produce a result we want. That result is either Casey or Tyler going, whichever one loses.
Kate is very close with Corey. Both the Morgans, really. Corey wouldn't pull a fast one on Kate in that scenario.
Corey has never had any interaction with me. And he absolutely could pull a move on me.
Corey has a lot of affection for Kate. And Corey knows that Kate and I are close enough to be clearly working together.
Which means Corey, were I on a losers tribe with him and Chris and Tyler, could see a vote against me as not only a power play to take someone with some influence of the game out of the equation... but also a way to force Kate to be closer to him out of necessity.
...Which means, fuck that noise. Kate needs to lose the challenge and guarantee if Corey is on that tribe that he'll be kept in line.
...
There's another reason I wanted her to lose the challenge. And it's for a reason that Kate called out in the middle of our debate. A reason she's absolutely right about.
It does mean she'll potentially have more blood on her hands. She knows that by doing this, we'll both get what we want, but she'll be the one to have to pull the trigger while I get to sit back and reap the benefits on the side.
I'm more than okay with her becoming the Dawn to my Cochran in this game.
(I hate saying that because I fucking love Dawn and wished so badly that she had won. But whatever.)
Vic and Sam are absolutely the shields for Kate and me. Just by having such history with these games and knowing so much of the cast, Vic and Sam are assumed by those people to be helping them. When they find out Sam and Vic are, you know, playing their own games, they get pissy and try to railroad them. And then Vic comes to me incredulous over how this is happening when we are legitimately doing little more than sitting back and building relationships and letting the people who want to make moves shine all the spotlights on themselves so we can aim our shots at them nice and clean.
Poor Vic. Poor Sam. It must be hell to have all the attention in the game right now.
