Just got here ... and I'm a little nervous. It's been several years since my last Survivor experience. And I'm older now ...
I have been fortunate enough to do this three times previously, and I like to think I've evolved every time I played.
Progressing from the aggressive "Dragon Slayer" to the more centered "Zen Slayer". I couldn't stand the "villain" persona, although I contend it was the producer edits that cast me in that light. So I'm hoping to progress to more of a older, wiser mentor role, I think the younger players could take to that.
Here's to hoping ... | |

We just won our first challenge!
Not sure how well the new team is doing, it's always a learning process, isn't it?
I spent the beginning phase of the game talking to as many of the other players. I wasn't able to connect with all them before the initial challenge. Which ended up being captains for team selection.
I ended up on the gold team (Ifbith), but wasn't selected until the 8th pick!?
Unacceptable! They won't like me with a chip on my shoulder.
The only thing I can say about the team captain is: at least he's willing to post nonsensical guesses to win a challenge. I hope he can show off soon with a BS spewing challenge.
So as soon as the challenge posted, I was a bit dismayed that it was all creative. Not my forte, I'm more of a leader of men.
None-the-less, I posted some quick thoughts and ideas before I had to go for the evening.
Imagine my dismay the following morning to find almost never thing done except for a few scrolls and backgrounds done.
Fortunately, there were a few willing to step up. Chris spent a lot of time on the banner this morning, despite being ill.
And the lovely Aubry said she could help. Claiming she was only a visual person, she proceeded to smash the banner without breaking a sweat, them she started writing like a maniac.
And IMHO, is the sole reason our tribe won immunity.
Bob Dawg came in late as well, to help as well.
Currently, Chris and I are watching out for each other. And Aubry could wiggle her little finger and I'd come running. I need to formalize our alliance, she's a force.
I mentioned to Sandra that us bottom draftees should stay together, she seems open.
And had a nice discussion about bourbon with Bob recently.
I'm friendly with everyone else and hope I'm playing well with others.
Subplot: I've been keeping touch with Tina, and hope to have an ally in the future.

Morning dawns, and nice to not have to worry about losing one of our own.
Chatted briefly this morning with Chris and Bob Dawg, those guys are solid, doing well.
Also took the opportunity to talk to Candice, Misty and Shane
All cool cats ...
Candice is scared about going home, she designed the banner, basing it off past seasons. Her first time playing as well. Sweet girl. She's 9hrs ahead of most the tribe, so communication is challenging.
Misty was forthcoming, said good participation, a few that weren't as visible, she did some graphics and some writing. Said Joe was favorite to get voted out.
No Alliance forming yet, but mostly open dialogue about who's going. I would be worried if I were her. Just because she isn't aware of an alliance probably means there is ones formed without her.
Shane actually sent me their banner. It wasn't bad.
And I heard their Epic was about Pokemon ...
They must have had bonus points for participation, and communication, for the score to be that close, just going off what I've heard.
And had this exchange with Debbie too:
Debbie: hello male me
Coach: Goddess
thanks for saving the tribe yesterday
Debbie:oh of course
get used to it
Coach: i hope i'm useful enough for you to keep around
Debbie: eh we'll see
who really needs dicks

Per Candice: Sounds like Shane is "playing hard", alliance formed, etc.

Shane and Nick in an alliance, they say our tribe is involved as well?
First I've heard of this ...

Getting along well with Misty ... nice chat with her.
And Bob Dawg and I discussed lifting ...
OH, and Ibrahem returned from the grave (broken PC) and he's eager to prove himself, and looks like he wants to stick close to me.
...to stick a knife in my back????

Challenge 2: Tug of War
We had to decide who to sit out as soon as the challenge opened ... I suggested Bob, since I hadn't seen him in our chat for 24hrs or so. And not many others seemed to have an opinion.
May have been a mistake, Debbie hasn't posted once in the challenge thread to help. Of course, no telling if Bob would have either.
Light participation. Sandra and Joanna are doing the best they could, but the other team essentially overwhelmed us last night. We're as behind as possible.
Not looking good for us ... unless we get a few people online today, looks like we're heading to Tribal.

This is frustrating as hell ... we only have three of us online all day to even ATTEMPT to whittle into their lead. And Tina, Shane, Misty casually are turning us aside.
we ded yo
I'm leaning towards getting rid of Ibrehem. Admittedly, his computer was down on the first challenge, but when he returned he swore up and down he'd be killing the next challenge. He posted 5 times. :(
Aubry has been brought up. She was a no show for Challenge 2. I hate that, because she slayed it on Challenge 1, I'd be inclined to give her a pass for another day.
Sounds like Chris wants to get rid of Aubry because her social game hasn't been strong. Not sure if Ibrehem is talking more to him? Because I don't think Ibrehem has been stronger than Aubry at that aspect.
Joanna is working behind the scenes methinks ... gotta watch her.
