Everyone already has a follow on me so it's not like I could run off with it and I'd pass it to whoever.

And yes I realize we are waiting a phase but we can just use the staff the moment the phase flips over.

Is the staff itself telling you it can't work in this room?

If so we may need to confirm it.

Ok I can confirm that it cannot be used in this room...

which is beyond awful.

But I passed the staff back.

(likely a precaution so we don't get stuck in the future room without a way out. we must lack a key item to release the guardians.)
