Rita looked on into the colourless face of the skeleton, backing away against the wall where the pool of water rested still. Its eyes were looking right through her, but soon they would awaken in their furious purple and it would shriek out horribly. Those things looked sharp. She backed into the pool and stood. Where her feet touched, the water flowed into life and lapped around her ankles, colour returning to it.
Colour was returning to other parts of the room too.
"Move away!" Marek shouted, rushing across the floor to the wall. Brie and Boone followed. Maria and Helm moved close to the other side with Walton. Andrael strode across last.
As the floor turned orange and brown, the creature began to speed up in its path. Its head was shaking until finally it reached a rapid speed. Then it shrieked out into the room, purple glowing inside its foul mouth. It turned to the Northern exit, by which Rita was stood alone in the pool. The waterfall resumed its regular speed and then everything happened at once.
She felt the rush of water on her head, cold and bitter as she clenched shut her eyes. Her uncle would be waiting...that was a thought she didn't enjoy. There was another shriek and she opened her eye slightly. Through the haze of water, she watched as the beast approached the Northern exit. It shrieked, dissolved in a spiral of purple sparks and vanished from sight altogether.
Rita let out a deep breath. She was soaked through but...alive. The group counted to ten silently and nothing happened. Then Marek stepped forth to the middle of the room.
"I don't think its coming back...." He suggested.
There was a global sigh of relief and Rita sank to her knees in the pool. That was...close.
It is now Phase 59. Phase 59 will end in roughly 24 hours from now.

Portal | Helm felt a little bit uneasy about something.
"I don't feel...well...." She murmured. Maria looked over and almost jumped back in shock.
"You're glowing!" She said.
Helm looked down. It was true. Her entire body was glowing red. The group stood around in confusion and looked on as the room filled with a bright red flash.
And then she was gone completely. |
