There was still an element to Maria and Helm that didn't gel right with the group because they weren't part of the original split. The room beyond was a standard size with a tall statue set against the Northern wall. There was barely a moment to register the surroundings before the air filled with a bright flash of white and Maria was gone completely. Rita blinked and dashed forward, noticing the glowing circle in the middle of the floor. The glow faded away as the statue stared on menacingly, its eyes fixed forward on the floor and its hands raised high.

Helm dropped down to her knees miserably as the room just looked on in silence.

Maria sat herself down in the sand. The situation really did feel quite hopeless. She'd been teleported away to here. She could get back to the group but who was to say they'd even be there anymore? What about all the skeletons? She felt so powerless and that annoyed her more than anything. She knew if she could just find her amulet, that feeling would go away.

She hoped they were okay back there. Flitting through time wasn't power enough when you were stuck in the confines of the Labyrinth. She needed more. She wondered how Helm was doing. Helm had always reminded her so much of Clara.

"I need your help..." Maria uttered out hopelessly to the heavens. Nothing came back.

So where to? Back South would take her to the right place...roughly speaking. If she got lucky she might escape the skeletons. Otherwise she could go North and...where to then? Was the future safer? She could hear Cerberus but it always felt so dangerous and alien.

Everything felt so dangerous. It was so unfair.

She stood upright and kicked at the sand. She had to make it okay for the sake of Clara. It wouldn't be right if she didn't. She had a debt to pay. And yet, how could she pull through alone and weak. Just a useless weak child.

Falling to her knees, Maria began to cry. Pathetic. Crying was not something she used to do. She was tougher than this. So weak and feeble. She felt all the life drain out of her. She never used to fear death. If only she had it. If only it hadn't been stolen. If only...

She fell to her knees as her head hit the sand. She could just wait it out here and let whatever was going to come just take her. Give it all up. Pathetic. An inner voice was scolding her but she couldn't readily resist it. She used to be powerful. She used to be brave. This place got inside your head. This place...

There was a slight glint in the sand.

Surely not this place? She'd already been through this place. Maria crawled over to the glint and began to dig frantically. She felt something solid under it.

Impossible....right here? Right where she started. There were no words to explain it.

She pulled the amulet out of the sand and raised it in the air, laughing. Very carefully she slipped it on.

It was finally back with her. She no longer felt powerless. She frowned a little and adjusted it because she didn't feel as powerful as she was hoping either. Was something wrong with it? It didn't matter. The first part was the important part. But why wasn't it working? Unless...

Was Willis' magic draining the power? It could be. A surge of magical energy could do that.

She had the power she needed to take him down. She had a mission to do.

Suddenly it felt very stupid to have nearly given up like that. No more of that. She clutched the amulet with a smile and headed out towards the Southern door. Time to finish this.

FINALLY! Time to go kick some old wizard ass.
