Room 8166 (past)
|
Helm approached the Eastern exit and took a deep breath before continuing. She pressed the door release, still wary of the sorcery it contained and stepped out into the great beyond.
The room she came into was twice the length of a standard room. She was stood at the Southern side, but at the Northern side was another exit East. The room was once more set upon a balcony that looked down over the floor below the tower. She was now stood on the Eastern side of it though. From this angle it was clear to see an exit to the East of the tower room and another to the North, albeit that one sealed with a lock.
And then she came face to face with a monster. It was stood in the corner of the room, clutching an enormous sword. The beast was chained to the balcony and it paced back and forth snarling and screaming. It was shaped like a man, but the face was hidden behind a monstrous cloak. The figure was big and imposing. It clutched a gigantic sword in its hand and didn't seem afraid to lash out with it.
When it saw Helm, the beast screamed out and dived forth, chains rattling behind. The chains kept it in place and it was unable to strike her. It hissed and screamed before charging back up to the balcony edge once more. She glanced over at the Eastern exit. It would be feasible to go past the beast and reach it. That shouldn't prove a problem. The chains wouldn't quite allow it to attack.
But there was something else of interest.
"Is that a chest?" Said Maria.
At the foot of the monstrosity lay a sealed wooden chest. The beast occasionally walked in front of it, snarling and lashing out.
"It is not worth it friends. That thing will surely attack." Said Lee forlornly.
"Maybe." Said Walton, not completely convinced.
"Unless somebody was really quick and stealthy. It doesn't seem to have much of an attention span."
As they looked on, the beast had already lost interest in the newcomers and was staring out at the floor beneath the balcony, snarling out as a couple of dark shade creatures went about their business below.
It is now Phase 52. Phase 52 will end in roughly 24 hours from now.
Objectives:
You can attempt to take the chest. To do so, you must create a thread in your journal entitled Chest Approach. Post ##Approach: Chest in this thread to take a step towards it. Only posts made on the minute every 10 minutes will count. For example, a post made at 4:11 will not count as a step, but one made at 4:10 will.
Whoever has taken the most valid steps at the end of the phase will claim the chest. Whoever has taken the least, will be killed. Only those who participate and make the thread will be at risk and at least two people must do so for the chest to be claimed.

Lee was laying there dead as....a rock. Well not quite dead but...certainly rock like in almost every respect.
"We cannot hope to, drag him along he is, too big for all of our, arms." Said Urk, striking a dramatic pose.
Helm looked towards the Western exit. It was time to move on. She stepped forward anyway. There was no telling what was going to happen with their bulky friend. She pressed the door release and moved back to the West.
Nothing had changed here. The door to the South was still shut tight and the red stairs were still exactly as they'd left them. Helm passed the time by looking down at the tower room below. Occasionally shades moved around in there. But most of the time it was empty. For his main tower, it was hardly well defended. She pondered it for a while, wondering about the strange creatures and what they represented. They were a part of a world she didn't know and would have spent her entire life not knowing.
It was a fascinating and scary thought, knowing how things had developed after she had died. Even scarier was the thought that she may die here...well after her allotted time. But no. It didn't do to dwell on such things. She let out a deep sigh and looked towards Boone and Marek over at the door.
"Is Lee still not back yet?" She asked concernedly. They shook their heads.
"May Paradiso watch over him." Said Andrael softly.

The world shifted around Brie. A purple haze covered the glowing red and she closed her eyes. When she opened them once more, she was drifting around through a spiral of dark violet. This was starting to lose its edge a bit now so she just waited patiently for the "journey" to end. It finally did and she was stood in a room that was the same size and shape as the previous one.
The main difference was the lack of balcony. The tower that the room overlooked was gone, replaced by a solid wall to the North. The Eastern exit was gone too, and the South was now accessible. The rest of the group were slowly materialising amongst the stony ground until all eight of them were finally together. Boone stretched and wandered across the floor.
In the middle of the room was an open metal cage, now resting on the floor next to a sheet of spikes. The spikes were bloody with a small piece of what looked like flesh on them. Boone's eyes reddened at the sight and he began to snarl despite himself.
"This....this just.....makes meeeeeeEEeeee" He started, rubbing his head in frustration.
"FUCK CAGE!" He screamed out to the group at large, panting and breathing heavily once he'd let it out.
"That's much better." He said smiling.

Helm walked to the South of the room, giving the cage a wide berth. She was much more comfortable in her own time. It gave her less cause for worrying thoughts. She pushed the Southern door and stepped out into the room beyond.
It was a standard size with exits to the North and South. In the middle of the floor sat an open wooden chest, completely emptied out. And to the side of it, piled up and disturbed in places was a mass of sand. Helm stared at it curiously.
"What a strange place to find this."
She ran her hands through the sand on the ground and looked at it with fascination as it trickled down between her fingers. The other seven made themselves comfortable on the makeshift dunes as they waited for their next move.

Helm headed South, leaving the sand behind her. It had been a fun little diversion but reality was all too quick to catch up. They hadn't wanted to come this way but it seemed that circumstances left them with no choice. Forlornly, she pushed open the door and stepped into the beyond.
This room was soothing. It was where they'd all began, but even so it was so peaceful and pleasant looking. A real calm before the storm. So much had transpired since then, back when they believed it would be such an easy mission. The room stretched out in all directions. The South was still fully blocked by rockfall. No chance of an easy escape was there? She sighed and stepped beneath a waterfall.
There were two of them cascading down into small pools in the rocky floor. The lighting was gentle and smooth and the water felt refreshing. She was acutely aware of the presence of others though as she stepped aside and shook her head.
"Apologies...the water feels good..." She murmured.
Marek smiled and tried it out for himself. It did feel good.
Boone's attention was preoccupied with the swirling purple vortex. It was dancing away and unlike all the others, it didn't seem like it was about to vanish out of existence.
"That was not heeEre before." He said sagely rubbing his chin.
Two chalk messages were still fresh on the walls. They read:

"4 N"

Teleport to future...
|
Helm stepped in front of the strange portal with a nervous look. Time travel was becoming an almost routine thing now but still, the unknown was always unsettling in this place. She took a deep breath and stepped into the thing.
The world around her twisted and danced. Everything turned purple and she felt a rush of pain enter into her head. That was...less than pleasant. But it didn't last very long. Suddenly she was stood in another room. It was the same size as the other one albeit a slightly different shape. Gone were the peaceful waterfalls though. She sighed. It was good while it lasted.
The future of the room was bleak and metallic. The walls were still dug away into the rock but they were coated with metal panels and supports in all directions. Up above decorative lamps dropped down from the roof. A strange sight in a place like this. High up above even those loomed the balcony. It began at the middle of the Western wall and stopped at the middle of the Northern wall. It was very hard to see above, but she could just make out the outline of a door on the Northern side of the balcony and another on the Western side.
The South was still blocked out completely. And in the middle of the floor lay the sad remains of Talion. She barely knew him. The others began to fizzle into appearance around her until all eight were stood by in the room, gazing up and around. Maria paused and looked behind her. The portal was still there. It hadn't disappeared.
And so was the chalk. Albeit very, very faded now.

We teleported to the past again and the DV skeleton was there but frozen because of the staff's power. We waited again and it left.

Rita looked on into the colourless face of the skeleton, backing away against the wall where the pool of water rested still. Its eyes were looking right through her, but soon they would awaken in their furious purple and it would shriek out horribly. Those things looked sharp. She backed into the pool and stood. Where her feet touched, the water flowed into life and lapped around her ankles, colour returning to it.
Colour was returning to other parts of the room too.
"Move away!" Marek shouted, rushing across the floor to the wall. Brie and Boone followed. Maria and Helm moved close to the other side with Walton. Andrael strode across last.
As the floor turned orange and brown, the creature began to speed up in its path. Its head was shaking until finally it reached a rapid speed. Then it shrieked out into the room, purple glowing inside its foul mouth. It turned to the Northern exit, by which Rita was stood alone in the pool. The waterfall resumed its regular speed and then everything happened at once.
She felt the rush of water on her head, cold and bitter as she clenched shut her eyes. Her uncle would be waiting...that was a thought she didn't enjoy. There was another shriek and she opened her eye slightly. Through the haze of water, she watched as the beast approached the Northern exit. It shrieked, dissolved in a spiral of purple sparks and vanished from sight altogether.
Rita let out a deep breath. She was soaked through but...alive. The group counted to ten silently and nothing happened. Then Marek stepped forth to the middle of the room.
"I don't think its coming back...." He suggested.
There was a global sigh of relief and Rita sank to her knees in the pool. That was...close.

Helm walked beyond the comfort of the waterfalls into yet another dark chamber. So much darkness around here. It was something they were becoming used to. Every other room played havoc on the senses. Willis knew how to grind people down. She was not afraid of the dark though, she vowed. She walked through the open doorway and stepped full force into it.
It was eerily silent. Half a million dark creatures could be waiting around or one person intent on mayhem but she was determined not to let that get to her. She had to showcase courage in the face of difficulty. She had chosen this path and she would see it through. She stepped forth and tried to scope out the room as best she could. It was a standard size with exits to the East and West.
As she walked forth, she felt something give beneath her feet. A trap? She'd been too quick and foolish. She tried to jump out of the way but it came for her anyway. Suddenly illuminated by a sinister glow, she saw the metal swoop down and felt the coldness of it against her side as it cut away. Another came from another angle and made a wound in her other side.
She clenched her teeth. She would not be defeated so easily. Blood pooled on the floor beneath her but...just a scratch. She would make it through the day. There were worse things to fear in the darkness than a knife. Before too long her friends were all around her. She felt light-headed as they helped her to the floor. Their words were distant in her head. It was comforting but she couldn't really focus on what they were saying.
"I....I will live...." She managed to say as she placed a hand on her side. Blood welled up in between her fingers as she clenched her eyes shut.
But she would live.

Walton stepped out of the Eastern door into a strange shaped room. To his South, the room extended for twice the length of a standard room, but to his West it also extended twice the width of a standard room. As he stepped out onto the rocky floor, he felt incredibly exposed.
A number of stalactites hung from the ceiling overhead. This entire chamber was like the inside of a cave. A small chunk of stone broke free from up above and just narrowly missed the place he was standing. Creeping cautiously across the floor, Walton looked over to the far West at the end of the corridor. There was an exit to the North and West over there. He then looked to the far South where there was another exit.
And braced himself as it slid open. Behind him the others were gathering, also wary of the open doorway to the South. The ground shook as they stood by and another small chunk of rock broke free from up above.
"Ow." Came a familiar voice.
Mark stood at the South, rubbing his head miserably. His brain caught up, suddenly.
"It's you guys!"
Airlea, Kristoff, Eleanor and the General came through behind him. Andrael smiled at them gently.
"It is good to see you here safely." He said.
At that moment the floor rumbled again. Kristoff almost lost his balance.
"What is that?" He asked nervously.
Overhead the rocks were shifting. A much larger one than the small pieces that had fallen so far was set to break loose. Boone glanced up and back across to the others.
"Run!" He shouted as the ceiling shifted once more.
It is now Phase 61. Phase 61 will end in roughly 24 hours from now.
Objectives:
Players must post to dodge the rocks. This is done by posting ##Dodge: Rock on the hour. It must be posted when the board clock shows the minutes as :00 for it to count. Each hour, the first player to correctly post their action will successfully avoid the rocks and be considered "free". This will only happen to the first player each hour.
A player who is "free" may choose to push a player who isn't out of the way on each subsequent hour. This is done by posting ##Move: Player Name. For instance, if Player A posted at 12:00 to dodge and was the first player to do so, Player A can then post to push Player B aside at 1:00. A player who is successfully pushed in this way will also become free.
At the end of the phase, the last player to be freed will be crushed by a rock. If more than one player remains un-freed, the victim will be selected at random from those who are still trapped.

As the group were discussing their plans, the ceiling began to shake and rumble. So many of the overhanging rocks had fallen down already but a large one was looming overhead. Most of the group were scattered across the room, well out of the range of the potential impact but two people were still stood in the middle. Walton and the General stood by as the ceiling overhead cracked and there was a tremendous rush of dust and rubble.
The group heard the crashing noise, followed by the groans. When they were done, the dust in the air was thick. Two sets of coughs emerged from the fog that had filled the room. Helm and Maria crept over through the thick of it to clear away some of the rubble.
It slowly began to settle, revealing the slightly tired and distraught face of Walton. He was backed up against the wall looking sad.
"It just missed me by an inch..." He murmured. There was another round of coughing.
"Oh deeeeEar" Said Boone sadly.
The General was laying out on the floor, his abdomen pinned in place by the large piece of rock that had clattered down from above. He had a tired and knowing look in his eyes.
"I have faced many combat situation to know full story...it does not....it does not end well." He said sadly.
"We should try and move the rock." Said Rita, looking around for volunteers. People were hesitant. She walked to the other side of it and saw why.
"Oh." She said miserably.
The blood was pouring out on this side. Even if they moved it, he wouldn't get very far.
"I came on this mission expecting danger....it started out and seemed like fool's mission with untrained recruits."
He looked around at them.
"You have proven to be better than I expected...that much can be said."
He closed his eyes and lay back. He was unable to move much at all.
"You must...not lose track. Time runs short. Willis gains his power. Stay focused...do what you must....do this thing. That is your mission...that is what you must finish. We came here with great purpose. Let us not be like Happy men who die alone. Let us save world. It needs saving right now more than ever."
The group fell silent and nodded.
"WeeeE will do our best." Said Boone.
The General smiled up with weary eyes.
"Do better than best. This is....old man's last wish. Please....make it happen...."
He closed his weary eyes once more. This time he didn't open them again. Rita kneeled down and felt his pulse gently, shaking her head.
"He's dead..." She said softly. |
|
The door to the East slid open as the group were stood around amidst the rocks and the rubble. Immediately everybody was on their guard. Something vague and horrible was standing in the doorway watching them.
"What....what is that?" Asked Maria as it looked on from group member to group member excitedly.
Boone squinted and smiled.
"That is an Urk." He said, letting out a sigh of relief. The group visibly relaxed.
"Show me ya moves!" Said Urk, flexing his muscles. Then immediately after he frowned at himself and muttered something else under his breath, having a full blown argument with himself.
"Is he okay?" Asked Andrael, looking on in horror.
Marek shrugged his shoulders.
"That's just Urk being Urk."
When Urk was done, he walked across the floor and paused at the sight of the fallen rock. A large chunk of it had collapsed from the ceiling. Glancing up, he noticed that the ceiling was covered in weathered rocks. The whole room was cave-like and it didn't feel particularly stable.
And pinned beneath the boulder was a still body, bleeding out onto the stone floor below. He recognised General Chuikov's weary face. The General was very dead. Urk flexed his muscles silently and gave a quick fire salute.

Andrael waved to the group as he departed to the West. In turn, Walton moved towards the Northern exit. He pushed open the door and braced himself.
The room beyond was twice the length of a standard room. There was an exit going West on the Northern side, as well as a standard Northern exit. There was a foul, dank smell in the dark air and Walton didn't like it one bit. Still, he stumbled onwards.
As he moved North he felt the floor sink beneath his foot and he knew the worst was coming. He braced himself, turned to look desperately at the group and then leaped through the air dramatically. Something came down from above and caught him on the side of the head, sending him toppling forward and splattering a bit of blood on the floor.
His companions rushed over to his assistance as he wiped a trickle of blood off with his fingers. He turned to look up and saw the mace on a chain, now swinging freely. He shuddered.

Helm moved Northwards. This portion of the Labyrinth had been dangerous. Maybe spending so long re-treading safe ground had led her to a false sense of security. She pushed the stone door and closed her eyes as she stepped out into the room beyond.
The room was a standard size and sparsely decorated. There was nothing too unusual about it, save for the monstrous beast against the Western wall. She recognised the creature from the stories, though not something she ever personally encountered. It was the Hydra. Three serpent-like heads intertwined and danced around one another. Each had a snarling set of jaws, looking hungrily in her direction.
Helm felt weak and incredibly afraid. She closed her eyes again. It wouldn't help much but it was something.
"Are you okay?" Came a friendly voice. Helm opened them again and saw Maria standing smiling next to her. She blinked and looked back at the beast.
Only then did she realise it was a statue.
"That is...that is very life-like." She said weakly.
It was hued somewhat orange by the light of the room. Helm stumbled backwards as she breathed out, relieved and almost fell over the body. Once more the fear crept over her. She edged herself away from it. It didn't look particularly gruesome.
"Brittany!" Said Boone with a sadness. Recognition sunk in then. Of course it was. She was always so lively and full of energy but this was just...sad.
The room fell silent. She looked peaceful with not a scratch on her. How had something like this happened. It was chilling.
"I do not know how to tell baby Burke" Said Boone shaking his head.
Rita reached down gently and touched her neck. She was curious about something. She stood back up, suddenly.

Rita shook her head sadly at the recumbent body on the floor. Poor poor Brittany. Who even knew if she'd ever wake up? It was time to move on though. She waved a sad goodbye and pushed the Southern door. The other six quickly followed suit, leaving the room and the creepy statue behind them.
They stepped back out into the room with the swinging mace. It dangled uselessly from up above. The floor tile still sank down as Rita walked across the floor, and for a moment she panicked and nearly leaped out of the way but she took it slowly and calmly walked across to the side. It was no good letting fear take over and the mace didn't appear to be doing anything dangerous.
Thankfully it just hung there uselessly. She breathed out again and turned to look at her companions.

Urk turned to face the Northern exit and then proceeded to walk to the South, backwards. The group looked on, somewhat perplexed as he approached the Southern door and pushed back on it with his hands. It didn't budge much. Helm looked over at Maria and Rita and then Eleanor shut her head.
"Fucks sake." She muttered and stormed over to the door, giving it a hard shove.
Urk stumbled through the now open doorway backwards and into the cave-like room beyond. He was stood on the North-Western side. From here it extended East for twice the width of a standard room and then South for twice the length of a standard room. There was an exit on the far South side, to the East of where he was stood and another just West of him.
He strode backwards some more, pausing by the body of the General and giving a backwards salute. Then he slumped down on the floor and sat silently. The others crept in and just stared. That was...interesting.
It is now Phase 66. Phase 66 will end in roughly 24 hours from now.

Portaled to the future.
|
Helm focused on a different time. This was a little strange. Travelling to the past was one thing, but travelling to the distant future world where the water ran yellow and everything was foul...that was an entirely different matter.
She closed her eyes and tried to work out the best route. When moving back to this time, she merely needed to focus on the world back home. So maybe if she focused on those images...and pushed them away. It was hard, they were powerful and she found herself not wanting to lose them. But all in all it needed to be done. She pushed them away to the back of her head, removing herself from thinking of home entirely.
When she opened her eyes, a swirling portal was standing in front of her. That had proven to be more easy than she was expecting. She reluctantly stepped into the portal, stopping for only a moment to enjoy the serenity of the world she knew, even if in this godforsaken place. The spiralling mass of purple colour that followed proved to be drab and uninteresting. There was no telling what lay on the other side...
Finally the spiralling stopped and she felt the clank of metal beneath her feet as she stumbled awkwardly into the grim future world. Other portals began to materialise beside her. She turned to look at them, making sure the others had all made it.
The floor beneath her feet was covered in rust. Below it was a large metal grate with a large basin beneath it. The basin was empty but there were signs of rust and discolouration on it that were a little unusual. She was standing in a standard sized room at first appearances, with an exit to the South and West. The room was set into the Southernmost part of the past version.
But the walls around her rose higher than any others she'd seen recently. On the Northern side, a fair distance up from the floor, the wall gave way into a platform, also the size of a standard room. It was far too high to reach from here though. The walls leading up to it were coated with rust.
Rita had other things on her mind. Firstly, the skeleton that was sat in the middle of the floor. Secondly, the creepy poem written in faded chalk. It read:
"Dear Pretty Rita,
Empress of my universe,
Would you please be mine?"
"66 *"

You have 24 hours to move. If you do not exit within 24 hours, you will be killed.
The group were stood around at the bottom of the rust coloured tower. Nobody was particularly eager to move on. They shifted their feet and tried to avoid making eye contact.
Finally they felt the walls moving in a little bit. There was an uneasiness to the air. They would have to move sooner or later, no matter what.

Room 4581 (future)
|
Walton felt the shove of hands at his back. Before he knew what was happening, he was being hurtled along against his will. He tried to resist it but there was no hope. Somebody had already pressed the door release. He felt himself as he was flung through the Western door, into new territory.
The room was a standard size with another exit opposite. The North of the room contained a large metal door that was sealed shut. A white ring was painted around it. As Walton looked on, the door slid open slowly and a shuttle bounded out of it. A little light on the front of the door blinked from red to green and the shuttle came to a screeching halt.
There was a creepy reddish glow to the air in here. Walton tried not to let him get to him as he proceeded to walk Westwards across the floor. Beneath his feet was a strange metal grate. It clanked a little as he moved. Beneath it, a large and thick metal pipe was running along the floor. The pipe ran all the way from the Western wall, moving out to the East.
He reached the halfway point and breathed out a sigh of relief. Only a few more steps.
"I think it's clear guys..." He began. Then came the bleeping.
He turned to look at the Northern wall, where a small device was flashing. There was one on the adjacent Southern wall too. In a moment of panic, Walton dashed away from the middle of the floor, over to the Northern wall. He made sure to stand clear of the device. His eyes were darting in all directions but nothing seemed to be happening. He put his head in his hands miserably as a voice by the Eastern door called out.
"Look out! Above you!" Shouted Rita.
Walton just had time to look up as a foul pink liquid trickled over him. It has the consistency of gasoline. As he craned his neck to see, the ceiling burst forth. There was a metal box up there with an image of a skull emblazoned on the side that was now pouring its contents down onto his head.
When the liquid was done falling, Walton bent over double on the ground, coughing frantically. He looked up at the faces of his group as they gathered around. He really wasn't feeling well.

Room 5024*
|
Walton felt a coldness against his face as the door opened up in front of him. There was a gentle nudge from behind and he knew he was toppling into new territory. He fell forth into a dark room.
The room was huge, cavernous and winding. It seemed to encompass a lot of space. It was hard to make it all out because the walls were so dark, giving the illusion that there was more room. He was stood on a metal platform at the very North of the room. There was a locked door just North of his current position. The room extended far South, for twice the length of a standard room where another platform rested against an exit on the Southern side.
In between was a deep black void. There was a long metal bridge raised high overhead on a circular pivot, turned away from his position. Next to him was a strange control panel covered with levers and the writing "East Bridge controls". There was a matching control panel on the Southern metal platform, currently inaccessible. There was no other way across the void.
The rest of the group milled in and looked around them. Boone's eyes were scanning everything when they opened wide at something below and he pointed excitedly, instinct taking control. A narrow metal pipe was jutting out of the Eastern wall below their platform, held in place from above. They could see it through the slitted metal floor. It moved to the West until it was about level with the middle of the platform and then curved to the South, all the way down to the centre of the Southern platform.
Finally, the pipe moved West. On the Western side of the Southern platform, the room extended West for twice the length of a standard room still. It was very hard to make out, but the group could see another set of exits on the far Western side. There was one West and one South on another metal platform. The pipe moved all the way West beneath this platform and out of the Western wall. Another control panel was sat on this platform.
And another bridge rested in the void between the South and Western platforms. It was also raised high and curved away, making access impossible.
Boone flexed his arms and made a grabbing motion towards the pipe. Helm frowned and looked down at it. It was very flimsy looking and the supports wouldn't hold.
"I don't think it's a good idea..." She muttered.
Boone shrugged his shoulders, sulked and then shook his head.
"Y-you're right. Just had something come over meeeEee."
They sat and stared across the void, pondering their next move.
It is now Phase 70. Phase 70 will end in roughly 24 hours from now.

Rita walked over to the control panel nervously. There was no telling what things did in this place. There were some levers and a plethora of buttons. She had no idea what to press so she pulled down on one of the levers carefully. As she did the floor shook slightly, but not in a particularly dangerous way.
The large bridge overhead sank a small amount. Rita stopped and tried pressing a button. It rotated a little clockwise with a rusty creak. It took some attempts to press all the buttons, with the creaking and the lurching in between before she was somewhat confident of what she was doing. It wasn't too complicated after all really.
The bridge lowered downwards and span 90 degrees until it was almost level with the group. She gave it one last twist and pull and the bridge sunk down with an audible click that once again shook the group a little.
It was now bridging the gap from North to South. They could access the Southern exit and control panel. |

Room 3512* (future)
|
Walton felt the shove from behind and careened into the door frame. He was sweating a lot and taking shallow breaths. He turned to look back at the group and proceeded to cough erratically. Urk sneered and pressed the door release. As the Southern door slid open, he booted Walton in the back and watched gleefully as the man fell into the next room.
The room was a standard size. There were exits to the North and East. Walton picked himself up from the floor amidst more coughing. The others walked into the room and scanned it carefully. The walls were fairly plain. Just metal panels with a touch of rust here and there. All except for the Southern wall which contained a sealed chamber. There was a door at the front of it which was open ajar.
Rita walked over to it curiously and nearly jumped back as the door slid shut on her approach. Next to the now closed sliding door, was a small button that was flashing. She hovered over it and paused, taking a step back and trying to get a look inside the chamber. Boone surveyed the floor and saw a series of wires which were moving beneath it. Other than that, the door seemed to be the only way in or out.
It is now Phase 71. Phase 71 will end in roughly 24 hours from now.

Room 5024* (future)

There was another shove at Walton's back as he careened Northwards onto the metal platform. He took two steps forward and collapsed. The remnants of the group gathered around him. His skin was very pale and he was coughing heavily. He raised his head slightly and proceeded to vommit over the side of the platform into the inky blackness below. Then he fell hard against the floor with a loud clank.
Urk walked over and poked him with a long finger.
"Earthling, respond." He insisted but Walton just lay still.
Nothing had changed about the room much. The bridge from South to North was still intact, extending for twice the length of a standard room. The exit at the far North was locked and there was another just East of it. Beneath the platform, the flimsy metal pipe curved in from the Eastern exit, extended South past their positions and moved out across the West over the void.
And on the far West, twice the width of a standard room along, they saw the small platform with an exit South and another West. In the middle, the large metal rotating platform was raised high above and unreachable. Boone scuttled about looking for anything different and that was when he noticed the chalk message on the wall. It read:
"Forever yours my shapeshifter <3"
He took a second or two to glance at it before the howling disrupted him. It was coming from the North-West and it was close. Not right outside, but close enough to hear clearly. It sent a shiver through the six of them standing. Boone's fur stood up on end as he got ready to run. It was the kind of sound that reacted with their primal instincts.
It was followed by another strange sound, close by. Walton had picked himself up off the ground and was looking worse for wear, but no longer coughing. He sat himself down silently near the edge of the platform.
It is now Phase 72. Phase 72 will end in roughly 24 hours from now.
