Wow, a guardian! So...all we needed to do was go north from the first room we were in? I agree that there's probably some catch. But wow, that was right under our noses that whole time.

And yes, I think the sword-wielder should try to use it on the door. If it doesn't work, it still shouldn't take too long to get to that room.
