Willis @ 26/5/2013 23:31
Hobert pressed the door release and walked through into a cave. This was what the adventure was all about. Dark twisting caves with lots of items and zubats. He walked across a rocky platform about the width of a normal room and stopped, gazing on in awe. It was both beautiful and horrifying. The others followed suit, taking care to stand back a little.

In front of them stretched a huge chasm. The whole room was airy and exposed. It didn't feel like they were indoors anymore. But the chasm sold it further. It sloped down deep below and stretched for the width of a room across. Far beneath their feet, a vortex danced around in a myriad of colours. Purple lightning shot out every so often and coursed beneath their feet. It was breath-taking.

In the middle of the chasm sat a long, wooden bridge. It was very narrow and very badly made. Wooden platforms held aloft by rope and thin strips of wood and metal. It was weaved together very roughly and each time the purple spiral below "burst" forth with a surge of energy, the bridge rocked and danced unsteadily.

"We have to cross that thing?" Said Kristoff uneasily.

Hobert shrugged. It was all part of the adventure after all. On the far Western side sat another exit. There was an almost identical rocky platform opposite. The group sat down in the darkness, taking care to stay clear of the edge. It was a long way down.

It is now Phase 57. Phase 57 will end in roughly 24 hours from now.

Airlea @ 26/5/2013 23:36
Doesn't talk about the purple and white though. :\ I would be really surprised if I happened to scan that Guardian right before we found the right portal. And I definitely don't know about jumping off that bridge into the vortex below.

The thread reset, but haven't heard from Boone yet. Urk went back to 2830 to try to get back with the group. And he just now posted that he heard Cerby howl. I just ask for more info on location based on what it said about him.

I think so, yes. We should end up in that SW section of the map then. I believe this is the way Cerby arrived south of my original group in the early phases and moved so many spaces at once.

Head Knight Mark @ 27/5/2013 0:22
Sounds good ~

##Exit West

How are you Airlea, on this fine day.

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 0:31
I am fine, and you?

Also, lots of news from Boone now, will post that next.

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 0:35
He says they got to 2223 in the past and it was not a teleport room. They couldn't use the staff and Maria couldn't travel there either.

They went to 9880 which is now just a huge portal and that brought them to the future.

So, anyone have any ideas how we are actually to access these Guardian rooms?

If Urk gets eaten by the pups and loses the walkie I'll be angry!!

What on earth... They could not travel from 2223 in the past to 2223 in the future (a Guardian room?). This is very bad news and a huge set back.

You don't think purple sparks coming out of the vortex indicates anything? :\

Kristoff the Grey @ 27/5/2013 1:14
We have seen purple sparks quite a bit. More common then beer in this place anyway.

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 1:15
I believe that vortex below us would be 4853 where the future people entered the Lab during phase 1.

I'd have to check back but seem to remember the queen saying in her results from the first time they were in that basin room that someone checked and it was a vortex.

Kristoff the Grey @ 27/5/2013 1:17

He says the balcony that Bear stood on was described a little better this time than he remembers and maybe that is how we need to reach 2223.

Which makes me wonder if there will be a way to stay on this elevated portion that we are on now to reach the balcony.

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 1:29
Kristoff the Grey @ 27/5/2013 1:22
Yes I know but it has no past room. Are you saying the room below this in the future has a room in the past and this room is 4853?

I think the vortex in the middle of this room used to be 4853 which had a future room that the future group traveled into the lab through (phase 1) and a past version which the past group traveled in through. The future group did mention seeing a bridge, but we in the past never had a description of a bridge.

Kristoff the Grey @ 27/5/2013 1:31
Did Cerby run across this bridge? Lol

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 1:36

Yup! That's how he traveled so many spaces so quickly and ended up south of us. This room is 3 standard rooms across. And that lines up with where I tracked him.

Kristoff the Grey @ 27/5/2013 1:42
Guess we don't have to worry about breaking it then lol

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 1:43
Found it

From the queen, when they used the basin to check numbers the first time she shared this info:

Thomas: 4853 (No floor – vortex of swirling darkness instead of a floor. Blue and purple sparks, and purple flashes from time to time.)

That would be in the past, but would possibly indicate those two rooms are essentially gone.

General Mikhail Chuikov @ 27/5/2013 5:47
Bridge is interesting. Having elevated rooms will make map making bit harder, even if it is hard now.

Are we sure 2223 is guardian room? I may have missed discussion about that. Why cant they travel between them? Perhaps they can walk to next room and travel from there? Seems odd to not be able to travel between rooms that have future and past versions.

Eleanor @ 27/5/2013 6:15
3 phases is long enough to be out to miss shit. I was ill guys.

I need to be refreshed on the following:

- Why we think 2223* has a guardian in it
- Where Urk, Stonehard and the other group are right now. Or a rough guess.

Eleanor @ 27/5/2013 6:47
Well, whilst I wait for an explanation on 2223*, I am going to bring something up about 2223 from the first time we came across it with the Stonehard.

This may have already been considered, but it was in 2223* that we encountered a monster who warned us about Willis and his friends. This monster was DV, who you guys have already been told about, am I right?

I think it is worth noting, if it hasn't already, that we encountered DV in a room we now suspect to be hiding a guardian.

If I recall correctly, we only encountered him again one other time, and that was during phase 10, in 4889*.

If this monsters appearance is a clue towards the location of guardians, we should keep an eye out for him. But I also wonder if he is related to the voice that Walton keeps hearing.

Before disappearing after our encounters with him, DV made an attempt to kill someone. Phase 5 encounter:

Phase 5
The creature leaped forward and then vanished in a flash of purple sparks as it almost cleaved Wilt in two.

Wilt was evil at the time. Phase 10 encounter:

Phase 10
Then it span around, raised the two daggers up high and went to strike Parker's neck.

The daggers were a mere half inch away when the creature stopped abruptly and glared on. Parker breathed deeply. He could feel the coldness of them on him and couldn't move. The creature let out a tremendous shriek that echoed through the room and slowly backed away.

And with a sudden flash of purple sparks, it vanished completely, leaving no trace of its existence behind.

The phase 10 one made it clear that it was targeting Parker. Wilt's might just have been flavour.

Just thought I should put all this out there in case it hasn't already.

Eleanor @ 27/5/2013 6:50
Just wondering about the initials DV too.

Might not relate to a name, but a phrase.

Possibilities.

Deus vult
Deo volente
Deo vindice

All of which generally translate to either "God willing" or "With god as protector"

Eleanor @ 27/5/2013 6:56
Also, has Walton had any updates from his voice?

Eleanor @ 27/5/2013 6:56
Also, has Walton had any updates from his voice?

General Mikhail Chuikov @ 27/5/2013 7:21
Some skeleton creature killed Rhea some time ago. I think it has initials like DV and someone in our group (Airlea?) came to conclusion that it was some elite soldier from long time ago.

I do not remember what DV stood for exactly but it sounded logical when someone brought it up. Airlea can probably tell you more about it, or someone else.

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 7:28
The other group reached 2223 from the north in the future. It was similar to the room our group found in the NW corner in that it described a door that wouldn't open, not locked but not an exit option. They asked me at the time to scan 2223 and it also had a frozen figure inside. They thought they could travel to the past and teleport into that room, but it didn't work.

General Mikhail Chuikov @ 27/5/2013 7:31
If they cannot teleport from past into room and cant access room in future. Perhaps something needs to happen to open door in future? Like some event or some item is required.

This is very puzzling.

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 7:34
Urk is now trying to get back to the other group. He is in 2830 and has Cerby 2 rooms west, while the other group is in 9880.

While Urk was following Lee he seemed to cross a teleport type trap. Based on your nearest person scans it seemed that Lee teleported to the past and continued moving east. Urk backtracked to meet the group but now that they couldn't teleport in 2223 they are still a few rooms apart.

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 7:36
Boone is wondering if 2223 can be found from the balcony of 9880.

General Mikhail Chuikov @ 27/5/2013 7:39
Airlea @ 27/5/2013 11:36
Boone is wondering if 2223 can be found from the balcony of 9880.

That is interesting theory. Perhaps we shall make this our next objective? Considering we are on higher level, we might be able to go north in next room and find entrance to balcony.

I wasn't on my laptop, will search for it now.

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 9:32
Our encounter with them was Phase 22, room 9859* and was also a red room where the queen had exited first (second after pushing Rhea through who died because of the DV)

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 9:49
Here are some of the snippets from that phase: (to lazy to edit every quote out separately)

Pai:
Also, Balagor can confirm (or maybe not because of his memory ) that we've seen this creature before. In Phase 5. Not Willis, but the DV creature. He told us to destroy Willis, and that Willis has friends, and that we need to destroy them too.

(*We (CoK) were told of 3 skeletons wandering during phase 12)

Kristoff said he once picked up a daggar with the initials DV on it.
Ajax asked him who's and he replied
"I do not know who's. It was just before my possession. It is my last clear memory before I died."

Pai:
In the prologues, Willis picks up a dagger with DV on it, and feels a dark presence come over him. You guys should check it out.

Kristoff:
I was hiking in a forest just outside Berlin. I was walking and saw some shape in the distance. I followed it and just as I got close I feel in some hole in the ground. At the bottom of the hole was the knife. I shouldn't of touched it but I did.
They are the elite force of King Minos. The people who went before the Greek heroes. The Dusk Vanguard.

Andrael:
Perhaps then the Dusk Vanguard that Minos sent here was the one that attacked us. Willis has managed to turn them against us and based on what we know, they are very deadly warriors.

Ajax:
According to what's been said by Pai Chan ... Those still want to kill Willis. However, I think they're a bit jealous of us taking the job request and plan to kill us while they're at it too.

Considering the shade said 'Ooooooooooooourrrrrrrrrrr mission' seems more to me of jealousy (flavor). In the end, we're not their friends either.

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 10:07
Also, for those who may have missed it at the end of last phase, I believe I found the Guardian room info for the NW corner:

Future room:
standard size
one exit to the south
solid ice statue in the middle of the floor
strange mechanism beneath it
man in suit of armour with a sword, leaning backwards

Past room:
standard size
no conventional exits
room is a small island to east and south is green water
set against a northern and western wall
middle of room is purple vortex that shows the white of the room
water is rough, storm overhead with lightning and wind

General Mikhail Chuikov @ 27/5/2013 10:09
Dusk Vanguard sounds correct.

And yes, clearly I don't trust people General. You'd be naive not to. We don't know where the gloves are, we don't know who the mysterious killer is who shot Angela. We could very well have passed them a killing item for all we know.

Head Knight Mark @ 27/5/2013 12:29
Fine, I think that the guardians are probably likely something to do with General's and Peter's roles. Peter said his is something that is best kept secret and he's only seen the opportunity to use it once, you saw the door that can't be opened once. You guys aren't claiming.

It would explain why Brie has a town role stealing role so there's a good chance to keep it alive.

General Mikhail Chuikov @ 27/5/2013 12:36
Its decent theory but my role is not related to guardians.

General Mikhail Chuikov @ 27/5/2013 12:40
I have not claimed cause element of surprise is essential in its usage.

If bad guys know my role they can counter, else they cannot.

Since they do not know my role they will have to take their chances with me around.

Prime suspects are in other group with Marek, im sure something is being worked out no?

Kristoff the Grey @ 27/5/2013 15:00
The Generals role... Whatever it is, does sound somewhat unnerving.

Although from what him and Peter have hinted at, that theory is a bit out there Mark.

General Mikhail Chuikov @ 27/5/2013 15:14
Unnerving in good or bad sense?

(based on the map I posted earlier) Boone is talking about trying to check out the room east of 2223, it's marked as trapped with a ? but I'm unclear how we have any information on this room. He says they were in the room to the north and east of it, and neither has any exits into that room. And he says Kristoff reported it is trapped.

I guess Boone kind of wants to figure out what that room is but the group is wanting to head to the SW in the past and explore there, which is where we were heading. But he says both groups could do it more quickly and make sure we don't check the same rooms. Then he said maybe they would take a shuttle to the NE and try to find Neptune and do something about the storm.

Thoughts? Feedback?

Kristoff the Grey @ 27/5/2013 15:33
Which phase did I report it as trapped?

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 15:38
I just asked him, will let you know what he says.

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 15:40
Ok, apparently that's the exit north from 9880? And he says it must have been one of the first rooms you checked at the very early phases. It's been marked as trapped on his map for ages.

Airlea @ 27/5/2013 15:43
And on my map it is marked as trapped.

Kristoff the Grey @ 27/5/2013 15:53

Pokemon Master @ 27/5/2013 15:57
Here's what I don't get...I get hiding things from people for protection, but you say you're doing it because element of surprise is good or whatever or you don't trust people.

Mark - if you had info but didn't want to share in the wrong hands then when would be a good time because there is always going to be someone that you don't trust. If you died with the info then it would die with you. If guess not necessarily in your case, but when is a good time to really say?

As for the General..if you're going to consistently say you're role is essential and it's better for the element of surprise...why would scum just not kill you before you can affect them? Unless you're role less. But I really don't get the point of keeping it hidden but shining a bunch of light on it as an effective role.

Pokemon Master @ 27/5/2013 15:58
Again, I don't want you to claim, but at this point you might as well since in my mind I would consider you dangerous and I have no clue what you do.

Well I dont think they want to risk attacking something they dont know.

Perhaps I am role-less and only bluffing, thus killing me would be waste of their talents.

Perhaps I can retaliate when they attack, killing them instead of me.

Perhaps I can survive attacks.

Perhaps I can fake my death and come back with vengeance.

Perhaps my role is shit and I want to make myself look essential.

Perhaps I can do none of those things.

Scum might only get one chance of killing us all. Perhaps they can only accomplish it if they kill us in right order, killing those first that could stop them.

Like in scenario. Scum has 5 weapons, 5 people to kill. What order will he chose? Will he kill me first? Will he kill me last? He cannot know what would be best order if he has no idea what my role is.

If I can retaliate attacks, picking me first would be suicidal. If I have no role picking me first might be mistake, allowing others to act.

Would you take such risk if you where scum, dear Hobert?

Perhaps he would wait to strike until he was 100% sure of victory and not do so prematurely, which would buy us time to win game.

Do you see where I am going with this?

General Mikhail Chuikov @ 27/5/2013 16:32
I said that if Queenie met us again she might not like to see me. As in I assumed she would try and scratch us with her little paws, which might prove bit unsuccessful.

I can assure you I am no butcher. I have no idea why you would think it was me.

I went under scan for exactly this reason. I knew people are going to mistrust me based on my decision to hide my role. Perhaps even accuse me of being scum for not wanting to reveal.

Is clean scum hunter scan not enough for you Kristoff?

You can all agree with my secrecy after game. My role is not informative. It is not related to guardians or any game mechanic in game. So there is no reason for you to know my role. It will not help us in any traditional way to win game, but it might help defend us against scum who would try and stop us.

I dont want scum to know all roles, that way they can plan who to kill first. Who would be best killed first. They do not know if they want me dead first, or last. I want to keep it that way. No need to make things easy for them.

Only bad things like I said before will come of my claim. Scums that are left (we know at least one is left who shot Angela) can come up with better plans to eliminate us all. But with uncertainties like my role, perhaps they will be less willing to execute daring plans, which might result in their demise.

Wo says there is even one? You don't need to be a butcher to kill and I don't even know if there was one in Lab 2 anyways. No point in assuming a role exists because if someone is a butcher it hardly matters. I that instance all I would need to know is they are scum and all scum die.

Pokemon Master @ 27/5/2013 16:40
So you now saying that your role can protect against scum doesn't make you think they would try and kill you?

For all we know you are scum anyways. I don't trust anyone who has been scanned good. It's a lie detector, not a scum hunter and the group even said there are ways to get around it and that posting the win condition for town wasn't even foolproof so I don't trust you based on that. I trust people who have proven it. Bottom line.

Kristoff the Grey @ 27/5/2013 16:51
Mareks scan is hardly fool proof but its a good point. It is still unnerving if you have a role which sounds like it could also harm town if you wanted. You also weren't the shooter so it seems unlikely. I would hope we only have 1 scum left too.

Kristoff the Grey @ 27/5/2013 16:52

They do not know how protective it is or if I am just lying. Would they risk losing their lives in process? Would they risk revealing themselves as scum if they where killing roleless person? I doubt it. Scum want to know all possibilities before striking, no? Knowing more roles minimizes danger of their plan failing.

Lie detector would detect if I was lying, correct? I said I would win if I or any other player with my win condition release guardians and bring their items plus sword to Willis tower. This was proven to be true statement by Lie detector. I was not forced to say those words so how could it have failed?

I am not forcing you to trust me just believe me, keeping either my very useful or very useless role might help in future if scum decides to make move.

General Mikhail Chuikov @ 27/5/2013 17:10
Hobert is right in saying we do not know for sure if there is butcher, that is too much metagaming. We cant say anything for certain based on previous games.

But for correctness, there was butcher in lab2.

Brittany @ 27/5/2013 17:22

Indeed. We should not take anything for granted.

Pokemon Master @ 27/5/2013 17:52
But Mark and the others from that group even said there are loopholes in the process of the lie detecting/ "scumhunting" and that using the town objectives wasn't the best way to go about it though it could be efficient. I was just pointing that out. Not saying you doing it didn't clear you, but they did say those things.

I remember Lee or Urk saying that whole "passage" (I am unsure of what to call it) was best way to do lie detect test? That was reason I picked that to say.

I am not sure what possible loopholes are. Perhaps Mark or Eleanor can tell us more about it, it is useless to debate this without all information.

Perhaps last scum who killed Angela is butcher, but we should not expect anything from previous games.

Head Knight Mark @ 27/5/2013 19:26
It's not so much loopholes so much as danger in scans. Basically any scan has to be tricked in a way to be said.

Because if someone is considered to be under duress, it comes up as inconclusive.

Head Knight Mark @ 27/5/2013 19:27
And all scum roles so far don't seem to have any sort of kills attached to them, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was none.

However, I really DO think there's a butcher. Every single scum role has had an opposite town role.
