"Through me you go to the grief wracked city; Through me you go to everlasting pain; Through me you go a pass among lost souls. Justice inspired my exalted Creator: I am a creature of the Holiest Power, of Wisdom in the Highest and of Primal Love. Nothing till I was made was made, only eternal beings. And I endure eternally. Abandon all hope - Ye Who Enter Here"

actually I think this is CHARON. Here's Dante's letter that Roth found

Quote
Bryce coughed as he flipped out an old piece of paper. He began reading to the collective group as best he could. His finger traced across the old text and he started to speak.

"Augustus 15, Eventide.

A grim day it is indeed. A mortal did breach the black gates and Cerberus somehow failed to detect the stink. Curious. I am unsure as to the means of which a mortal can bypass the ancient one. Nevertheless upon arriving at the port he did possess no obol but challenged Charon in a round of combat.

Lest ye forget that in these grounds very few mortals do ever tread and the ancient ones do pick up the quirks of humankind too carelessly. Charon succumbed to the man made boredome and agreed for a chance to swing his sword arm.

However Charon has a dreadful weakness. He cannot be killed being an ancient one and immortal but when his head is cleaved from his shoulders with a dull blade, Charon falls like any other. Quite pitiful to witness the head plunge into the fiery lakes alongside the body. Even the ancient ones are not intent to tread into the fires.

I had but no choice than to let the beggar cross lest he turn his dull blade to me. As once mortal, I still know fear. It is not permitted but I gave in and assumed Charon's role as the ferryman taking the mortal fool to the gates. Let him be the problem of Minos.

The fates do not bode well for poor Charon. I have heard that the souls in the fiery waters can turn a mortal man to insanity. If that should to work on an immortal I have no inkling. I should certainly not like to bathe in them lest my mind become not of my own and my bloodlust ravage my bones with a thirst for vengeance.

Most assuredly it is t-"

Bryce looked puzzled.

"It stops here..." He said confusedly. He flipped it over absent-mindedly.

"Oh there's more!" He said turning to the back.

"-he worst. I am afraid that Charon even as immortal could not withstand those thirsty souls. They hunger for a shell be it mortal or not. His shell has become corrupted and maddened.

I have but no choice to replace him as the ferryman, a duty I did not anticipate but nonetheless must carry out. So it is my bidding. It is far better than the horrors that lie beyond. I will do it as to the best of my powers and I will not falter where Charon did. Though my mortality and still human emotions, I fear, may get the better of my role.

Charon has been placed above the ground as a ferocious guardian lest another breach the gates and attempt to find passage. Cerberus is usually enough, but it is better to have a second guardian. Though Charon has become feral and insane, this only serves to make him more of a menace to all who move beyond. He is liable to give in to the bloodlust if any dare come close.

These are grave times indeed. Ferrying souls is an unpleasant duty but I shall carry it out. I will take with me all of Virgil's guidance and until the end of time, I will do my very best."

Bryce frowned.

"Uhh there's a signature at the bottom but it's kinda hard to read."

He focused.

"D...D Alig...D Alighieri?" He said puzzled. He shrugged and put the document away.

this part is what Im referring to:

so I guess he isn't the ferryman anymore... but this is definiately the way to go. We need to get past him

lol yeah didn't you not sense a trap in the bridge room?

I think CHARON would count as a trap for THIS room anyway

lol if it wasn't Leos it was someone posing as Leos. I remember them saying to me after shooting Hupu "thanks for taking care of Kendra for me Jeff, please find my body and don't think poorly of me"

The sniffing out thing is something I just picked up. Since our roles our similar... when asked if he could use his powers, the fake me said that he couldn't "sniff out traps anymore". I thought it was a weird way to put it, as I never mentioned anything about sniffing. Until I just saw what you posted and I thought that whoever had my body must think that since our roles are similar that I must sniff things as well... or possibly that they were familiar with the term "sniffing" and just used it off the cuff.

lol actually IIRC he said that cuz I asked "did you sniff the next room yet Klaus?" and fake Klaus said "no, I'm afraid my nose is stuffed and I can't sniff rooms anymore"

to me that doesn't seem like something Willis would do TBH. I think he likes leaving all the paranoia to play out on its own, while just NUDGING ppl here and there. I dunno if he'd actually take an active part in the game like that... would kinda detract from the whole LAB RAT aspect, no?

After experiencing Fake Klaus, do you think we were ever in the presence of a Fake Frosti as he so loudly liked to proclaim for those mysterious two rounds? Or was he always just a belligerent jackass?

lol no Frosti always acted like Frosti. Fake Klaus was acting NOTICEABLY different and we all noticed and mentioned it. I just thought it was KLAUS fucking with us cuz he did something similar when he got POISONED until he told us he was just joaking. But... then he shot Hupu and it became obvious something was up (:

I don't agree. Kiwi and James Red Roomed during the same phase, given golden guns, and told whoever shot first gets to continue to live? If the Mime had been around to win, good luck explaining that to your group. Kiwi had the benefit of being able to talk and explain. He loves picking and positioning against one another.

that's what I meant by NUDGING. That's different to me than Willis actually taking an active hand in the game by taking over someone's account and playing as them

It's possible. Though we did chat a bit.

Thinking of the "find my body" line... it's entirely possible some dead person had my body.

Considering they asked Jeff who he trusted the least, and then killed that person that Jeff suggested makes me think that they were doing what they did as some sort of redemption kick.... hoping that Jeff might return the favour and revive his body if he found it.

So fake you asked Jeffrey whom he trusted the least, then killed said person? And then said what he said to Jeffrey? "Find my body" and whatnot? Making sure I've got the events in the right order. Because it does sound like someone that liked Jeffrey/thought Jeff would revive them.

ya he said I was the only one I trusted in the group

and he told Helios "SUCK MY DICK AND KISS MY ASS" which sounds like something Leos would say (:

Then I be guessing that fella with the smashing hat be stepping up to accept the challenge with Charon's Coin held high? Maybe the damned thing remembers some token of its past life.

yeah when he gets on he should try to offer up the coin... tho considering Charon is FERAL I dunno how much he cares for such trinkets (:

in Dante's letter it does mention Charon being susceptible to a sword lopping off his head but none of us have seen nor heard of any sword

So Jeffrey the letter you shared with me - it suggests Dante is the new Ferryman. Before Charon went completely crazy, Dante said let him be Minos's problem. This suggests Charon "worked" for/under Minos, as now does Dante.

He was also on the short list of major monsters from Inferno that I drafted up long ago. Think he could be yet another Guardian waiting for us somewhere?

I hope my group doesnt get mad at me for leaking sum computer info (: but this is the other figure in the maze that appears in a similar fashion to Charon:

Quote
A brownish room appeared made entirely from black metal. In the middle of the room, a solitary figure was stood looking at something.

here was Charon's description for reference
Quote
A lake of fire bubbled away around a dark black room. At the East of the lake of fire a very large figure stood by the door. It was holding an ancient looking sword. It was hooded and marched back and forth, screaming every so often and snarling with a venomous rage.

there's no other figures in the maze like those. Tho considering some rooms are not visible to the computer such as the SUBWAY with the tentacle monster, there's likely some more hidden rooms, perhaps with more monsters in them

It would be cruel and thus typical of Willis to have such a crucial item be some shitty blade that no one thought much of

lol tbh it's the same case for the COIN. They got that for solving sum puzzle

I remember you saying Subway last round. My sleep-deprived brain just read Shuttle tracks.

There be a fucking subway?

lol yes, that's where the stairs that me and twinsie descended led to and where the tentacle monster resides. It takes you from the north side to the south side of COS
