Jeffrey took a step onto the wooden bridge nervously. Oh men...this did not feel safe. As he walked onwards onto the bridge, a jet of fire shot up and rocked him every which way. He leant against the rope at the side which was hardly supportive. This thing could go at any minute. He sidled across sidelong and jumped off onto the other side, breathing slowly.

Mercator looked down at the flames through the wooden slats and continued walking. As he did Helios took a step onto the bridge. He glared at Helios.

"Wait for me to cross!" He yelled.

Helios shook his head.

"Oh no. The quicker we get across the less the wood will wear and snap and I don't like the look of those fireballs. So move it."

He shoved Mercator across and the two got onto the other side. Helios looked over at the others.

"It's fine."

Klaus took some bold steps. He was still walking okay. As he reached the halfway point he looked back as Mercator nervously tried to place his cane on the bridge. It was shaking in his hands. Klaus sighed and walked back across. He grabbed Malarkey and pulled him along.

Malarkey snarled at Klaus.

"I can do it just fine! I know where we're going and what we're doing and everything else there is to know!" He insisted.

Klaus nodded silently to himself as he dropped Malarkey off on the other side.

Baby Pete smiled and silently walked forwards. He didn't seem to be much aware of what he was going on as fireballs jumped up past his face and almost took it clean off. Helios winced at the thought.

Bryce smiled.

"Your turn Randolph!" He said excitedly. This was a great adventure.

Randolph glared down into the fiery lake. The flames danced in his eyes as he looked down. He was sweating and shaking. Ninefingers frowned.

"Be there trouble? It be scary for us all."

Randolph shook his head.

"Just....an unpleasant memory...."

He sighed.

"The lava it is....unpleasant......to me...."

He took a step forwards with his eyes shut and he hobbled along like that. Bryce smiled and walked onto the bridge right after. He didn't see what the big deal was. He walked obliviously through the jets of fire without a care in the world.

Alex stepped onto the bridge as an army of Korru's then approached. All of them walked at once as the bridge shook and shook. This...didn't look great. Alex dashed across ahead. Screw that. Finally Ninefingers shut his eyes, crossed his chest and ambled onto the wooden slats.

As he stepped forth a slat snapped and fell through. He yelled out in terror as he hung onto the rocking bridge. Jeffrey sidled back on and grabbed his arm, helping him up. Ninefingers nodded a thank you and the two continued along.

Walter glared at the wooden bridge and the broken slat with a look of doubt. His eyes looked sad. He cradled his empty shoulder and looked down at his gigantic, hulking body. He sighed.

"I too big." He insisted.

Ninefingers looked awkwardly across. He was a tad on the heavy side. This could be a disaster. Donovan snarled and pushed Walter forwards onto the slats. He scrunched his eyes shut and took steps ahead as the bridge rocked. When he reached the halfway point, Donovan stepped onto it calmly.

Walter was within a foot of the end when the bridge snapped in half.

Ninefingers leapt forwards, arm outstretched to grab onto Walter. The weight of the man was pulling him down. Klaus, Bryce and Jeffrey all grabbed hold of Ninefingers and pulled the two of them to safety. In the distance, Donovan was hanging onto a rope, dangling over the lava.

His eyes rolled as he tried to speak. He looked down at the lava and then up at the group. He looked up at the ceiling and then shrugged. Whatever.

He let go of the rope and fell into the bubbling cauldron.

The other 12 breathed a sigh of relief...that was a close one. Nothing of value was lost anyway. They were doing well at losing dead weights lately.

Jeffrey opened the Eastern door nervously when they all had the chance to recover. He took a step into a dark black, rocky chamber. It was lit by red and orange glows. He stood on top of a narrow ledge. Either side the lake split and bubbled away.

To the north, a shuttle stop appeared. Of all the places...

The room filled with steam as a figure ahead snarled and hissed. A cowl covered its face as blood red eyes glowed out. It was holding a deadly looking sword and stomping back and forth in front of the Eastern exit.

Jeffrey turned around as the others all entered. The room cleared of the steam-like substance and a shuttle up above opened its doors. There was a blue ring around it but it was hard to make out with the red glow everywhere.

The figure glared at the 12 without flinching or saying a word. Then it screamed and raised the sword above its head. It swung the sword around in deadly arcs through the air before lunging forwards at Ninefingers. Ninefingers closed his eyes. It had moved too fast...

There was a rattle and clink of chains as the figure fell over. It was chained to the frame by the Eastern door. It hissed and screamed on the ground. The hulking form was totally blocking the doorway and swinging that sword wildly.

While it was downed, Klaus took a look at the frame it was guarding. His eyes widened. It was unlike any of the others in the labyrinth. It was large and black and ornate. There were no mechanical releases....just pure...architecture....

How wonderful.

The figure stood itself upright and screamed and hissed as the group backed away once more.

Bryce took a step forwards, holding out a shiny gold coin. Two red eyes glared at him. Bryce stared up nervously into them the figure swooped out a hand and grabbed the coin. It looked down at it and then looked back at the smiling Bryce. Finally it looked down at the coin again before taking it and hurling it through the air. Bryce caught it as it came down.

And the beast lunged. It grabbed Bryce in one of its hands, dropping the sword. Holding him up to eye level it stared with deep red eyes as Bryce squirmed. The beast opened its mouth wide and screamed.

The scream was horrible. The room had to cover their ears. It was the highest, most pained, hellish scream they had ever heard. As the beast continued to fill the air with its revolting scream, the inside of its mouth glowed bright red. Fangs could be seen against the silhouette. Finally it closed its bright red jaw and hurled Bryce across the room.

Bryce skidded along the floor with a groan. He stumbled onto his hands and picked himself upright. The beast grabbed its sword and lunged for Bryce's neck. The chain caused it to miss by a mere inch. Bryce could feel the cold air swish against its neck as it swung over and over.

Ninefingers and Klaus pulled him backwards as he stared up in a horrified trance.

The group stood around the smiling baby and grinned menacingly. The baby looked up innocently as there was a scuffle. A crowd of people began punching and kicking. Bryce looked on worriedly as the crowd laid into the baby hard.

All of the thrashing made the beast chained to the door snarl and rush forth. It fell down as the chain strained and it screamed out into the night. The smell of blood filled the air. Finally Korr blasted through the group and smashed both fists down onto the infant's skull.

There was a crack as the baby lay in a bloodied heap on the floor.

Klaus looked around at everybody.

"Does anybody else feel slightly wrong?" He asked nervously.

As Klaus leapt forth to scoop up the items, the infant twitched. He jerked backwards nervously as eyes blinked under the bloodied face. He turned around to hurl, disgustedly. The group looked on in horror as the baby thrust an arm outwards and then another. It rolled onto its front and pushed up with shaking limbs.

Standing upright and facing the group, it brushed its hands over its face, clearing away the blood and matter that had drizzled out of the broken skull. With the face only barely bloodied, the baby shook the goop of its hands onto the floor. It then smiled up at all of the onlookers with a happy grin.

The Baby grinned up as it mumbled away in strange tongues. It reached into the pack and pulled out a very sharp knife. Grinning at the group, the baby thrust an arm forth and sent the knife careening into Mercator.

With lightning reflexes as the knife lurched towards him, Mercator jerked his body backwards to escape the blade. It sunk itself fully into his groinal area.

Mercator yelled out in sheer agony as tears flooded his eyes. He rolled on the floor screaming and squealing as the knife lay upright in his nether-regions. Looking down through the tears he pulled the knife out with a horrifying plop sound and hurled it onto the floor. He crawled over to the corner of the room and cried his eyes out, trailing blood behind him.

There was a terrified silence as the group looked at the zombie infant in horror.

The group leapt for the smiling baby as it muttered away in latin. It jumped back out of their reaches and then, still smiling, flopped to the ground, broken and battered. Blood spurted out of its nose and covered the face. To all appearances, the baby appeared exactly as it did before it leapt up from the grave.

The room fell silent as the baby lay there motionless. The chained beast snarled in a fit of rage. Carefully, Klaus shook his head. Why him? He walked over and checked the infant's pulse before jumping back once more.

"Dead...definitely...dead.."

He said shaking.

Ninefingers shook his head.

"The damned thing was dead before." He said nervously.

The beast continued its fit.

Walter walked in front of the group as he glared up into the eyes of the beast. It snarled and opened its jaws wide, revealing the hellish red light once more. Walter just glared it down. He was not afraid. Fear was not an emotion he understood very well. Grunting, he stepped forth and walked up to the beast as it gripped the sword with a snarl.

Ninefingers looked on in horror.

"Walter run!" He yelled.

Walter turned his head slowly around. He wasn't the fastest at keeping up with events.

"What you say?"

Jeffrey's eyes widened.

"HEISENBERG, DUCK NOW!"

Walter looked back with a sadness in his eyes. He really wished he understood things better. These puzzles were getting harder and harder. And his shoulder hurt. Why did they keep asking him to do stuff? He just wanted to tag along and see all the colours.

"Where is duck?" He asked slowly.

There was a horrible fleshy sound.

Walter looked down at his body as the innards spilled onto the floor. Was it meant to do that?

Suddenly things didn't seem that hard anymore. Naptime...naptime was a nice time....things were so much easier when he was...a....slee....p

He looked up through drowsy eyes as the group stared in horror at his form.

"N......in.......ey...........good.......frie......nd."

Ninefingers jerked his head back. He'd told the man to do it and he was praising his efforts?

"Miss.......Nata.......lie..........lot....s..."

"She........he....lp..............me......"

"Underst.....and..........this........"

Walter's eyes closed.

Naptime....was.........nice.......t-ime.....

The beast raised its bloody sword and lunged forth. It cleaved the body into several pieces as the group looked on in abject horror.
