yea Im not even going to give this season a chance. The season is overly twisted that You can't even call it survivor anymore. After being a loyal fan who stuck through redemption island the first time/ 3way finals/ outcasts/ and exile island I can't do it anymore. Philip was my last straw. Its sad because if you were to ask me what my favorite shows were five years ago I would of said Antm and Survivor both of which I no longer watch because of all the changes.

Probst Cast Assessment here:

overly twisted for sure, but im still excited for it. If the ratings go down cause this isnt what fans want, hopefully they will learn this time.

I don't mind a final three jury vote at all - it's just that they NEED to make it a final two sometimes. Keeping it the same makes it predictable, having no discernible pattern makes it more fun to watch. Plus, Final 2 jury votes... the jury tends to be even more bitter, and fights are much more likely to break out. As they have it now, you can make a final three alliance at the start of the merge and make the end with them. You don't have to make one last betrayal.
I liked Exile Island, but am glad they retired it because it started to get stale.
Redemption Island is the problem. It takes away reward challenges while adding absolutely no value to the game. Matt, Andrea, Ozzy, and Ozzy all came back from Redemption... only to be voted out the first time they were vulnerable afterward. And given how both of those horrible seasons were Pagongings that were excruciatingly boring to watch. The game both times had little to no strategic value, was predictable, and why, you ask? Redemption Island ate up so much airtime that there was no chance for a tribe swap OR post-merge reward challenges, which allowed inter-alliance mingling (that was a plot point in One World).
Yet, Probst likes it to keep the voted-out people in the game another episode, which in turn detracts from the people still in the game. Let me get this straight... you're devoting nearly half the episode to people who aren't going to be returning over the people that haven't even been voted out??? I don't get it one bit. It's a distraction from Survivor and a horrible, unnecessary twist that completely ruins it.
I would watch Blood vs. Water IF they didn't do even more returnees, which is yet another problem. The first 20 seasons had FOUR seasons with returnees. The seven following have had FIVE. Why? There's something really wrong there. Why not take this concept and do it with all newbies, and put everyone on the same tribe as their loved one? Five blood-related pairs, five couples. No Redemption. No "Day Zero" garbage. And best of all, NO COLTON.
Seriously, I want to punch that [bleep][bleep][bleep]ing [bleep][bleep] in the face so hard that he'll be unable to breathe for a week. I don't care that he's "matured" - for all I know, he was just acting nice to get back on, and he's just as disgusting as he was the first time. He seriously makes Aryan from Big Brother look like a saint.
I'm over this season already. I'm probably going to watch the premiere, hate it, and not watch another episode. I try to be open minded, but this is just bad in concept. Although having expectations of horribleness may actually make it more enjoyable...
Then again, we're going to have to watch Colton, C***ice, Grandma Laura, and other awfuls again...

So I don't know about you guys but I was actually pleasantly surprised by this premier and I think it might be a pretty good season. Without spoiling anything: balanced editing, several solid new players, and pretty decent gameplay right off the bat. I'm looking forward to next week

I like Brad too, lol. But I think he's got limited time in the game with as hard as he's playing. I'm really liking Caleb, Katie, and Vytas.

I liked this a lot more than I thought I would - granted, I thought I'd hate it, so that's probably why I was pleasantly surprised. I came in expecting a 0 and got something that was filled with everything Survivor needs - good gameplay, great character development, a close challenge, interesting personalities meshing, a creative twist (although RI still sucks and this could do without it)... it had everything.
I was happy with C***ice getting voted out first. They woke up and realized that she was bad news and could not be trusted under any circumstances. She's a terrible, impulsive player and she got what she deserved. Good riddance - I don't have to deal with one bitch I don't like. Colton, however... I'll never forgive him for the horrible things he said last time. There's no way he's changed, or ever will, and I thought the reverse of Probst - I question why Caleb would "love" a piece of shit like Colton, and being with a monster shows a lot about his character. It's so confusing to me.
Laura Boneham being voted out was sad, but people know how close she and Rupert are. His move to switch with her was not surprising in the slightest - it was a bad move nonetheless, because she's an easy target on her new tribe. Colton may leave first if they find him too intolerable.
Culpepper is amusing. He really runs his mouth too much... but he's in charge. I knew he'd vote Marissa out because he's the ex-NFL player who has a brewing rivalry with Gervase already. "I can't tackle him, but I can do this to him." Stupid move given how Katie botched the puzzle... she should have been gone. Oh well, Culpepper is setting himself up for a very amusing blindside later. Might be the first time Probst calls a guy by his last name and he does horribly!
I have higher hopes right now, but Redemption Island is very likely to ruin them. Or Colton. Or both. Although if C***ice is eliminated first... lulz.
I'm going to keep watching for now. But here's hoping I don't lose interest!

Granted I missed the first half hour (and therefore any/all talk over Candice/Laura boots) It was still better than I expected, but I'm quite saddened by the Candice/Marissa boots. I feel bad for Marissa and it makes me dislike Gervase.
Early faves: Aras, Vytas, Caleb, Tina, Katie, Ciera, maybe Tyson this time around... | God is watching me eat toast. |

Pretty much agree with everything above, Candice was a great choice because she has shown over and over again she has no loyalty and will flip on a dime. Laura Boneham was no shock either cause of the target Rupert has, and in a way it worked out BRILLIANTLY for the Loved Ones tribe, because by doing that the other tribe lost Rupert and hes on redemption from the start. We knew Rupert was going to sacrifice himself for his wife, everyone knew it, so even not knowing the twist beforehand it was a smart play. Not so smart for Rupert because Laura is going to be an outsider on Galang right from the start as well ( she was fucked before she ever stepped foot on the island). I know the Redemption Island is not popular, personally I never had an issue with it, I think it is frankly well used here because of the "loved ones" aspect adding extra drama to it. It appears 3 players will be on redemption at a time now, leaving room for a duo to survive being on redemption.
Some good character development on the other tribe..I was REALLY hoping Katie would go because she is the most boring member of the tribe, she was useless in the challenge and I am not a big Tina fan. I was disappointed with that first boot, its unfair to vote Marissa out for Gervase's immaturity, there really should have been more merit behind it. Katie seems slated to go next however.
Vytas and Ciera have fascinating backgrounds, Brad is playing very hard and is going to be fun to watch. I think there is some potential here on Tahwana (is that how its spelled?)!
Galang I expect Laura Boneham or Colton to go quickly, these veterans aren't going to be manipulated so easily by Colton and will see him as the liability he is. Laura Morrett is proven valuable in puzzles ( sorry Ciera, mommy has you beat) so she'll stick around awhile longer, despite being almost sent to redemption.
