I'm pretty early in 64 but it's fun... I remember this game being impossible for me when I played it at the time... because I had never really played a 3d platfomer before and I was like... 8? But a lot of the tricky stuff I can pull off pretty easy now.
Yeah man. I only played occasional levels as a kid and I definitely wasn’t going for “completionist” like I do nowadays for certain games. Mal the game definitely gets harder for certain stars later on.
100 coins in certain levels in particular is a major bitch. Especially on Clock world.
Oh I'm sure tick tock clock is annoying in general from what I remember and have seen. I watch a lot of speed runs and limited A presses videos about 64 and most of the a presses are for TTC
I’m only one level into Sunshine and it’s way harder than I remember. The controls for shooting the water gun seem inverted to me or something. A little clunky.
Also the blue coins are hidden insanely well. I’m hunting for them all and had to google where the ones were that I couldn’t find..... and they were incredibly hidden. Definitely more detail since SM64
I am struggling very much with sunshine im embarrassed, i’ve never sucked this bad at a mario game before and i’m only at the beginning. It took me way longer than I’d like to admit to complete the stuff before the first “level”
