Role:Godmother
You are the Queen of the Trail. You oversee all the trails natural actions, but you maintain human form and pose as a regular townsperson on the trail. Should you ever be scanned, you will appear as town. You are immune to night kills.
You maintain a whole inventory of supplies, which serves as the whole mafia team's inventory, as well as the mafia's total funds should you ever need to purchase goods.
Below is the scum team's starting inventory. This will continue to be updated throughout the game. Since you are not human, you do not have to worry about maintaining an inventory of items for survival. However, you may need to consider these items for other purposes.
-Team of oxen to pull wagon: 4 oxen (need at least 2 to “move” or perform night action)
- Sets of clothing: 2, one for summer and one for winter
- ammunition for your hunting rifle - 1 round (1 round = 1 hunt)
- spare parts for your wagon - 3 parts
- Food - 5 food rations
Below are the team's current funds. You may use these funds on any items that become publically available in the day thread. Only the Godmother may purchase items during the day. Should the Godmother be lynched, the mafia may choose a designated mafia member to conduct purchases during the day phase.
Starting funds: $75
You are aligned with the MAFIA. You win when all threats to the Mafia have been eliminated and your faction makes up at least 50% of the remaining players. |

Role: Farmer
You’ve always had a bit of a green thumb that allowed you to get by. However, tales of new - and fertile! - lands out west have been calling your name. You put together all the money you had to obtain supplies for the trail, and now you begin your journey.
Each day phase, you may anonymously give out one food ration to a player of your choice (note: you will not lose any of your food rations by doing this).
You are aligned with the TOWN. You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.
You will start with the following items in your inventory:
-Team of oxen to pull wagon: 2 oxen (need at least 2 to “move” or perform night action)
- Sets of clothing: 2, one for summer and one for winter
- ammunition for your hunting rifle - 1 round (1 round = 1 hunt)
- spare parts for your wagon - 1 parts
- Food - 3 food rations
Starting funds: $50 |
Having finally eliminated the bad omen once and for all, you carried on with your journey, cruising through Fort Walla Walla, and reaching Oregon without a any other deaths!
Congratulations! Just beating the start of winter, you’ve reached the Williamette Valley! Town has won the game!

You are a prominent and talented medical professional who has found themselves on the Oregon trail. Whether it’s a desire for adventure or a need for change, you are determined to see the western United States, and tend to your fellow travellers while you do so!
Every night you may pick a player. If that player is targeted for the kill, they will survive. You may not protect yourself.
You are aligned with the TOWN. You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.
You will start with the following items in your inventory:
-Team of oxen to pull wagon: 6 oxen (need at least 2 to “move” or perform night action)
- Sets of clothing: 4, one for summer and one for winter
- ammunition for your hunting rifle - 3 round (1 round = 1 hunt)
- spare parts for your wagon - 5 parts
- Food - 5 food rations

Occupation: Seamstress
Role: Seamstress
Life as a seamstress can get very monotonous, but you always have had a great sense of adventure! Although you live comfortably in your small town outside of Providence, Rhode Island, you take to the trail for a change of scenery. Plus, people on the trail always need clothes, and you’re just the lady to help!
Each day phase you may anonymously gift a player with a set of both summer and winter clothes (2 sets of clothing).
You are aligned with the TOWN. You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.
You will start with the following items in your inventory:
-Team of oxen to pull wagon: 4 oxen (need at least 2 to “move” or perform night action)
- Sets of clothing: 2, one for summer and one for winter
- ammunition for your hunting rifle - 1 round (1 round = 1 hunt)
- spare parts for your wagon - 3 parts
- Food - 5 food rations

Occupation: Chief
Role: Third Party Native Vanilla
You are a representative of the native tribes along the Oregon Trail. You are usually among the least of the emigrants’ problems, if a problem at all. Normally you remain peaceful and actually help the emigrants in a variety of ways, including trading with emigrants, helping them cross wide and treacherous waters, or teaching them about foods to eat along the trail. Relations with emigrants only get dicey when trigger-happy douchebags provoke you--you’re just trying to protect your native land, after all.
Help vs. Hurt - You may choose which of the following approaches you prefer to take. You cannot change your approach once you choose it. Under each approach you may choose one of two actions:
Help - You may either choose to heal another player (you cannot self-heal) OR you may propose to trade with another player for goods. Should you choose this approach, you can win with the town.
Hurt - You may choose to kill another player OR you may steal goods from another player. Should you choose this approach, you can win with the mafia.
Your alignment is THIRD PARTY, but as explained above, your win condition is dependent upon the approach you choose.
You are aligned with the TOWN. You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.
NOTE: If either one of you is attacked and/or is killed at night, your approach will default to “hurt” for the remainder of the game, and your only option will be to kill. However, you will not win with the mafia. You will only win once all threats to you have been eliminated. Should the last of you remaining me lynched, you will become vengeful. You may choose someone voting you and take them down with you.
Hidden From Player: If a missionary attempts to convert you while both natives are still alive, you will kidnap the missionary and they will become a third party native. If you they attempt to convert you and only one of you remains, the remaining native will be converted to vanilla town.
Because you are not a traveler on the trail, and are thus more familiar with the land, you have different rules for survival:
- You do not need to consume food rations, as you can live off the land. Any food rations you have in your inventory can be used to trade.
- You do not move using oxen. You only need one horse to move (perform your night actions). Any other horses you have can be traded - a horse can be used in place of an oxen. However, you cannot use an oxen in place of a horse.
- As well as being able to trade your night action for hunting, you may trade your night action to make one herbal remedy or one set of clothing (summer or winter).
You will start with the following items:
- 3 horses (need at least 1 to move, or perform night action. Horses can be used by other travelers in place of oxen, however you cannot move using an oxen).
- Sets of clothing: 2, one for summer and one for winter
- arrows for your bow: 3 arrows (1 arrow = 1 hunt)
- Food - 5 food rations
- Herbal remedies - 4 herbal remedies (can be used to cure typhoid & dysentery)
Starting funds: $75. |

Occupation: Presbyterian Minister
Role: Missionary
While many make their way on the trail to explore new lands or find riches, you have a different reason. You want to travel the trail to help individuals find the eternal love of Jesus Christ along the way.
Each night, you may pick a player. You will then attempt to convert them to Christianity.
Hidden From Player: If you attempt to convert either one of the natives to Christianity while both are alive, you will be kidnapped and become a third party native. If you attempt to convert while only one remains, you will convert them to vanilla town.
You are aligned with the TOWN. You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.
You will start with the following items in your inventory:
-Team of oxen to pull wagon: 4 oxen (need at least 2 to “move” or perform night action)
- Sets of clothing: 2, one for summer and one for winter
- ammunition for your hunting rifle - 1 round (1 round = 1 hunt)
- spare parts for your wagon - 3 parts
- Food - 5 food rations

Role: Even-night Vigilante
You’re a small town sheriff from North Carolina with a bit of an anger streak. After an unfortunate trigger-happy incident, you quickly fled your jurisdiction with all your money and anything you could sell. Since then, you’ve found an inconspicuous group to travel the Oregon Trail with. But, your anger still follows you…
On each even numbered night, you may attempt to kill a player of your choice.
You are aligned with the TOWN. You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.
You will start with the following items in your inventory:
-Team of oxen to pull wagon: 4 oxen (need at least 2 to “move” or perform night action)
- Sets of clothing: 2, one for summer and one for winter
- ammunition for your hunting rifle - 1 round (1 round = 1 hunt)

To be honest, we really did too! This game's structure definitely favored scum (I mean, does anyone sign up for an Oregon Trail game expecting it to favor the townies?), but town really figured it out. I thought for sure our mistake lynching the town RB was going to really screw you guys over, but then I really didn't feel as bad when you all LYNCHED GMAJ 2.0!!!
