Wow there were some gifts which could've f'd us up lol. Personally, I think the game was perfect, role/flavor-wise, without needing the gifts, although I appreciate the fun aspect.

Wow there were some gifts which could've f'd us up lol. Personally, I think the game was perfect, role/flavor-wise, without needing the gifts, although I appreciate the fun aspect.

I originally had the gift giver as an Unaligned role, but I couldn't make it work so someone would actually want to try it. I wanted to keep it in, as a nod to Curtis' Yankee Swap thing that people made a big deal out of (I even included a Cheese Pizza), and giving it to town to distribute was the best way to make it work. It was a way to distribute a couple of actions that Town normally has (Watcher, Hider, etc.) and give Mafia a chance at getting them as well. It just lucked out that mafia ended up with the bomb, and all the other useful ones went to people who died before they could be opened/used or went unclaimed.

Looking back on it, I should just have made D1 entirely a gift swap, and everybody open their gifts at the end of the day, and have one of them be the lynch (plus a bomb and other fun things).
