Joseph Takagi was happy. His business, Nakatomi Trading was very prosperous. They just had a record year for profit, and he was excited to be able to offer this holiday party for all of his employees as a small token of his gratitude for their efforts in the company's success. While he longed for his family to be there with him to share in this joyous occasion, he knew he'd be seeing them soon enough. He was definitely looking forward to taking his wife and children back to Japan to visit family in the coming weeks.

Unbeknownst to "Joe", events were already in motion that would significantly alter the course of the evening, and for some, the rest of their lives.

A group of terrorists had just entered the building down on the first floor and had taken control of the lobby, eliminating both security guards who were stationed there. Very quickly, they had the entire building on lockdown. The group boarded the high-rise elevator, and made their way up to the 30th floor.

Out strolled the terrorists, MP5s in hand, aimed directly at the unsuspecting party-goers. One of them fires off a quick burst into the ceiling, which quickly startles the crowd.

"Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention" said Hans Gruber, the one who looked to be the leader.

"Due to the Nakatomi corporation's legacy of greed around the globe, they're about to be taught a lesson in the real use of power...you will be witnesses."
