Sock was out for a stroll late at night. He felt a presence and turned around just in time to notice a suspicious, shadowy figure following him.

He ducked around a corner, and quickly ran through an alleyway, trying to lose his pursuer. He knew the area well. Zig-zagging through various roads and hidden paths, he finally found himself by the waterfront. He looked around and didn't see anyone behind him.

"Great, I lost them!" he told himself proudly.

Feeling relaxed and safe, he sat on the seawall and noticed the moonlight reflecting off the water. As he continued his gaze, he thought he saw movement in the dark waters below. He crept a little closer, and then closer, peering down. Suddenly, he lost his footing and fell into the sea with a big splash.

He knew how to swim so, not panicking, he started to make his way to shore. As he did, he felt something brush his leg. He shrugged it off and kept paddling. Then he felt a sharp pain in his side. He started paddling faster, and felt something bump against him hard. Then he heard the sound. It was ear-splitting. It was the last sound he heard as he was pulled under and torn to shreds.

Sock has died.
