Grandpa was devastated. What was happening? This must be a dream. He flipped to the back of the book to see if this was just a mistake. Surely, it must be. He started to read out loud, thinking once he finished, things would be back to normal and he would wake up.


Chapter 12: Prayers

The country of Florin was finally starting to recover as the evil Prince Humperdinck and his man, Brute, from the Brute Force, were defeated.

One man was in the Chapel, praying. He was so grateful evil had been defeated and wanted to give thanks to the Lord.

He closed his eyes and knelt. Then he started his prayer...

"Thank you, Lowd, and please bless our country and its people as togethahhh we ovewcome evil..."

He was in the middle of his prayer when he felt a presence. He looked up to see a figure standing before him. He was about to get up but stopped when the person began to speak.

"Don't get up on my account."

The tone was so evil. He fell backwards and tried to scramble away, but the figure stopped him by placing his boot on his chest. He was trapped, laying flat on his back.

As he looked up helplessly, the figure thrust a sword into his chest. He died instantly.

Your targets will be joined together beginning the following day phase. Although you may only perform this action once per game, you may try again if your action is not successful (see below). You cannot target yourself. If your action is unsuccessful (both players are not alive during the next phase or one/both of your targets are not able to be targeted for any reason), you may try again until your action is successful. If your action is successful, both players will retain their previous roles/alignments while they share a forum together as "man and wife." Their roles/alignments will not be mod-confirmed to each other. This may not be a "legal match" but it is still a partnership of sorts. Win condition: You win when there are no remaining threats to town.

Grandpa half expected to hear his little grandson make a comment, but there was silence. He held back tears. He said a silent prayer to himself.

Just then, the hooded figure was back in the room.

"NO!" cried Grandpa. "This can't be!"

"Oh yes. It can." said the figure as he closed the book on Grandpa's story for good.
