So due to BUSINESS and such I haven't been able to keep up with the music scene(s) of 2012 as thoroughly as I'd hoped. Thus I am looking to my friends at Further Entertainment for possible info!
As of now, my personal favorite album of the year is The Menzingers' On the Impossible Past. While I'm not too big into pop-punk (being older than 14), the album makes up for it by actually having tight and creative instrumentation, along with almost Cohen-esque lyrics about waitresses and getting drunk and American muscle cars.
