Sorry for the delay on getting this ready. But it's here now.
A Reminder of the Rules of Voting
1. While anyone from FE is allowed to vote, no soliciting for votes at the end of the draft. Obviously, I have no way of enforcing this, but if I find out about anyone going to others and asking people to vote for them, they will be dq'd. It's not in the spirit of the game as this is not meant to be a popularity contest. Also, if you are someone voting on the draft results, the only thing I ask of you is to determine your vote based off the draft itself and not your opinion of the person who drafted the team.
2. No voting for yourself at the end of the draft. You must vote for one of the other players, and if you fail to do so you will have a point subtracted from your total votes received.
3. The voting period will last until Wednesday at 5:00 EST at which point we will declare a winner.

Pick One
Spider-Man
Spider-Man has always been my favorite hero and he should be yours TOO! He has somewhat of a unique story in that he became a hero by mistake, bitten by a spider, and he took a look at his powers and like the true golden boy he is -- he decided to make the world a better place. He embodies a true hero through always putting others before himself and always winds in dangerous situations to ensure the safety of everyone involved in situations before himself. His youth provides him with a less tarnished view of the world which makes him extremely likable, as well as someone that children growing up on comics could always relate with.
He's nerdy, he's cute, he's positive, and he's RELATABLE! His impact in pop culture has been astounding as he's had four different movie series pop up in the last twenty years, all successful enough to spur a sequel. He's also such a comedic character that he's found himself in several viral memes (You've googled Spiderman meme at least once. I know you have.) He has such a distinct look and even when he strays from the classic look -- a lot of his spin-off outfits are still recognizable. He's had several video games, one of the most successful runs as a comic book hero, and so much more.
Plus, he has a great butt in that spandex. |
|
Pick Two
Harrison Ford
Harrison Ford has brought us nothing but good heroes over the years and he's done it successfully for multiple generations, revamping these classic characters for a younger audience (And doing it exceptionally well, at that). Out of all of his roles, he's played some of the most iconic heroes in cinema, including: Han Solo (Star Wars), Indiana Jones (Indiana Jones), & Rick Deckard (Blade Runner). And on top of that he's just a great guy -- a hero in real life, dare I say.
He even has a heroic beginning. He worked hard for roles but found nothing so turned to being a carpenter on movie sets until he was discovered for his first role in American Graffiti. From there, he took this opportunity to make great connections and become the classic hero we know and love today. So, whether he is saving us from relics from the past, robots from the future, or monsters in outer space -- Harrison Ford has always been there. And he always will. |
|
Pick Three
Mario
To kick off round three, I'm going to be picking one of the most classic video game heroes of all time. MARIO! Through multiple professions, he has brought us some great times all while saving the world (and his princess). From tennis, go-karting, soccer, board gaming, olympic athlete, golf, taking a dip in the medical field, to saving the actual universe -- Mario can do it all. He even does it while he's on vacation! (You didn't think I'd forget Super Mario Sunshine, did you?)
Mario has been a classic hero for many generations and is the face of one of the most iconic game companies to date. He's brought us nothing but good laughs and a sense of accomplishment when you beat Bowser for the 900th time. Because it still never gets old. His story has always been heroic and even though he's not built like a classic hero, he does it anyways. And if you don't like Mario, I'm sure you like a character in the Mario universe and they wouldn't exist without him! |
|
Harry Potter
Harry Potter has the traits of a very TYPICAL hero. Coming up from nothing and no one and against all odds, rises above and saves the world -- even though it wasn't always kind to him. He is always seen as the underdog but no matter what challenge is thrown at him, he manages to turn around his odds and set himself up for success. And he has fucking MAGIC, so that's always a win too. Harry was such a great hero that people were literally dying at his feet to ensure that he made it to where he needed to be.
And on top of that, Harry quite literally DIES. He has the chance to go be with all of the loved ones that he has lost, but he still chooses to return -- even though he just died himself. He's a MARTYR! And he's a pretty fun character with a lot of great people helping him at his side. So, I guess he really is 'The Chosen One' now, HUH! |
|
Shrek
When you think of legendary heroes, they're the ones that are bigger than life. For me, this is SHREK. Which might be a controversial choice, but he's done a lot of great things despite being a little out there. Shrek represents the hero that isn't always conventional. He's a bit out there and was one of the first heroes in a movie that didn't LOOK heroic and really proved that anyone can be a hero if they set their mind to it.
A lot of heroes go into movies with the perfect mindset and are ready to save the day from the get-go, but with Shrek, we get to learn along with him what the true meaning of friendship and being a hero is. Over the course of his movies, we've been able to see Shrek learn and grow into the great hero that he is today. Shrek wasn't always fighting for the right reasons, but he was always put in situations where when faced with right and wrong -- he always fought for what was right. He saved the whole fairytale world with just his bare hands and I'm sure he'd do it again, given then chance. And plus, his swamp will be a perfect home base for my heroes. |

Pick #1: Arm-Fall-Off-Boy
justification: his arm falls off |
|
Pick #2: Matter-Eater-Lad
justification: he can eat anything |
|
Pick #3: Eye-Scream
justification: he can melt himself down into any flavor of ice cream |
|
Pick #4: Asbestos-Lady
justification: she covers herself in asbestos |
|
Pick #5: Turner D. Century
justification: he is literally just a crazy old man with 0 powers and 0 abilities who hates anyone under 65 years old because they have bad manners. he's basically a GLBer
"In the Marvel universe, supervillains get drawn to a life of crime for a variety of reasons. Some might want money, or power, while others, such as Turner D. Century, are frustrated by a modern lack of manners.
As a young man, Clifford Michaels was raised by a millionaire stepfather who refused to let him see much of the modern world, instead keeping him in a fantasy construct of the early 20th century, before World Wars had become a thing. Michaels therefore grows up thinking that he lived in the early 1900s, and his reaction to discovering that he’d been lied to for his entire life is to, naturally, become a supervillain, as is the standard reaction to troubling news in the Marvel universe.
With a handlebar moustache and a straw hat, Turner D. Century looks fairly harmless – and he is. Without super powers, he resorts to creating a scientific device called the Horn of Time, designed to kill anyone under the age of 65. Of course, being raised in a fictional version of the past means that Turner D. Century isn’t exactly a technological mastermind, and the device doesn’t actually work."

I'll take the merc with a mouth, Mr. Pool
|
|
You don't mess with Peter! What's his super power? Diabetes. And so do I so he's my hero. |
|
Joining Deadpool and Peter is someone who needs no introduction. He braves the world everyday and is an inspiration to everyone that knows him. It also doesn’t hurt that he is literally the sexiest man in the planet......and I would like to add............
|
|
Im selecting with my 4th pick the most inspirational hero of all time!
Handyman! |
|
Ordinary Morman by day, super hero by night...I'm drafting Joe Young......or better known as......ORGAZMO
|
Badger
|
Goku
Goku can fly, is extremely strong and fast, a master martial artist and also one of the most powerful beings alive... but is also fun, lovable, a bit of a doofus, and would be a lot of fun to have a beer with. He's the type of person willing to be a team player but also capable of going solo when he needs to.
He's an alien, and because he is a Saiyan, he gets stronger after every time he loses a fight. Which kinda means that if you have him on your side, eventually your side is going to win.
I won't lie, I also had a crush on him when I was like 12 and figuring my shit out, so he's been a fav of mine ever since and that probably factored into this pick. But I stand by it! |
|
Mercy
Mercy is friendly, exceptionally smart and can literally bring people back from the dead (in a non-creepy way). She's a great addition to any line up because she has a personality that is easy to get along with and bringing people back to life is just... really, really powerful. There is now a better way of bringing Goku back than collecting those pesy 7 dragon balls to wish him back!
She can also fly and both heal and amplify the damage of her friends as long as she is nearby, so even though she won't be doing too much fighting on her own, she's someone you pretty much always want on your team. She is kinda like the mom of a team that will always be carefully looking after the rest of the team's well being and making sure things don't get too out of hand.
Oh, and she's a beautiful, blonde bombshell so she has that going for her as well. |
|
Captain Planet
Ths superhero was a memorable one from my childhood. Lets see what he has going for him:
- Beautiful green mullet
- Abs of literal steel
- Late 80s/Early 90s Childhood nostalgia factor
- Actively trying to stop humanity from destroying the planet they live on and in turn themselves.
He’s a little preachy I guess but nothing Goku amd Mercy couldn’t handle. And he's literally trying to save us from ourselves, which is pretty noble. |
|
The Genie from Aladin (Robin Williams version not Will Smith)
For my fourth pick I am selecting the genie from Aladin the animated movie. Not only does he bring the amazing personality of Robin Williams, but he is also able to creatively fix pretty much any problem that brute force isn't going to solve and he's probably going to be absolutely hilarious while doing it. He's kind of like a swiss army knife for the team because he is so adaptable.
He does have some limitations, but none of them are too important. He won't kill anyone, but do you really need any more brute force when you have a team with Goku on it? He can't bring anyone back from the dead either, but we have Mercy for that. And he will not force anyone to fall in love, but as we learned from the movie Aladin, he finds loopholes around that one (using a disguise to manipulate Jasmine into falling in love with Aladin was something the Genie was able to do).
Also, if the team is ever under scrutiny from the public, he's like the perfect PR person. Everyone loves the Genie! |
|
Dexter Dexter
This little goofball is quite the genius. His parents think he's a normal little boy with nerdy tendencies, but little do they know he has created a futuristic laboratory under their house. How did he build it? Science.
He can create pretty much any type of machine and can accomplish some amazing shit but somehow manages to get thwarted by his ditzy older sister Deedee at every turn - she's kind of like his kryptonite because she breaks into his lab and messes up whatever he's doing. But luckily for this team, Deedee isn't part of it so she won't be there to mess things up for him.
With any crazy powerful scientist, you have to kind of have to worry about them turning mad scientist and going full villain, but he's got some great guidance on his team and I'm sure that Mercy can keep him in line.
Also, apparently he doesn't have a last name but at times the show refers to his family as the Dexter Family, so I guess his name is technically Dexter Dexter? Weird little sidenote but it made me chuckle. |

Why was Nelson Mandela a hero?
When Nelson Mandela was a young man, white and black people in South Africa lived separate lives under a system called apartheid. White people, who were a small part of the population, were in charge of the country.
It was illegal for black people to use the same schools, hospitals, and even beaches as white people. Conditions in whites-only schools and hospitals were much better. But Nelson Mandela believed that everybody should be treated equally.
Mandela joined a political party called the African National Congress (ANC) and later co-founded the ANC Youth League, leading protests against apartheid. Sometimes the demonstrations turned violent and in 1964 Mandela was sentenced to life in prison on Robben Island. While Mandela was in prison photos of him were banned and it was even illegal to quote him in public. But people from all over the world campaigned for his release. Songs were written and big concerts were held in protest.
Mandela had spent 27 years in jail and was greeted as a hero on his release. Mandela is famous for promoting a message of forgiveness and equality. |

Kal-el (AKA Superman)
Ever since his inception, Superman has been depicted as a hero that originated from the planet Krypton and was given the name Kal-El at birth. As a baby, he was sent to Earth in a small spaceship by his biological family, Jor-El and Lara, moments before Krypton was destroyed in a natural cataclysm. His ship landed in the American countryside; he was found and adopted by farmers Jonathan and Martha Kent near the small town of Smallville, who named him Clark Kent. Clark displayed various superhuman abilities from the start as a young boy, such as incredible strength and impervious skin. His foster parents advised him to use his abilities for the benefit of humanity, and he decided to fight crime as a vigilante. To protect his privacy, he changes into a colorful costume and uses the alias "Superman" when fighting crime. Clark Kent resides in the American city of Metropolis in his adult life, where he works as a journalist for the Daily Planet disguising himself among the people there. Superman's supporting characters include his love interest and fellow journalist Lois Lane, Daily Planet photographer Jimmy Olsen and editor-in-chief Perry White. He has many foes such as his archenemy, the genius inventor Lex Luthor. He is a friend of many other superheroes in the DC Universe, such as Batman and Wonder Woman. |
|
Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne, a wealthy American playboy, philanthropist, and owner of Wayne Enterprises. After witnessing the murder of his parents Dr. Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne as a child, he swore vengeance against criminals, an oath tempered by a sense of justice. Bruce Wayne trains himself physically and intellectually and crafts a bat-inspired persona to fight crime.[6]
Batman operates in the fictional Gotham City with assistance from various supporting characters, including his butler Alfred, police commissioner Jim Gordon, and vigilante allies such as Robin. Unlike most superheroes, Batman does not possess any inhuman superpowers. He does, however, possess a genius-level intellect, is a peerless martial artist, and his vast wealth affords him an extraordinary arsenal of weaponry and equipment. A large assortment of villains make up Batman's rogues gallery, including his archenemy, the Joker. |
|
Wonder Woman
One of the most beloved and iconic DC Super Heroes of all time, Wonder Woman has stood for nearly eighty years as a symbol of truth, justice and equality to people everywhere. Raised on the hidden island of Themyscira, also known as Paradise Island, Diana is an Amazon, like the figures of Greek legend, and her people's gift to humanity.
As Themyscira's emissary to Man's World, Diana has made it her duty to lead by example, even if the differences between her birthplace and new home sometimes present hurdles for her to jump. She has come to represent the possibility and potential of life without war, hate or violence, and she is a beacon of hope to all who find themselves in need. She stands an equal among the most powerful Super Heroes, with a sense of purpose to protect the world from injustice in all forms.
Diana's job, however, is anything but easy. Constantly torn between her mission to promote peace and her need to fight back against the pervasive violence of her new home, Diana struggles to walk a line between her warrior strength and endless compassion each and every day. |
|
The Flash
Thus far, at least four different characters—each of whom somehow gained the power of "the speed force"—have assumed the mantle of the Flash in DC's history: college athlete Jay Garrick (1940–1951, 1961–2011, 2017–present), forensic scientist Barry Allen (1956–1985, 2008–present), Barry's nephew Wally West (1986–2011, 2016–present), and Barry's grandson Bart Allen (2006–2007). Each incarnation of the Flash has been a key member of at least one of DC's premier teams: the Justice Society of America, the Justice League, and the Teen Titans.
Like his Justice League colleagues Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman, the Flash has a distinctive cast of adversaries, including the various Rogues (unique among DC supervillains for their code of honor) and the various psychopathic "speedsters" who go by the names Reverse-Flash or Zoom. Other supporting characters in Flash stories include Barry's wife Iris West, Wally's wife Linda Park, Bart's girlfriend Valerie Perez, friendly fellow speedster Max Mercury, and Central City police department members David Singh and Patty Spivot. |

When I started this challenge I expected everyone to pick Hero’s of the Superhero category given this sites affinity for such, so I was a bit surprised to see the varied picks. After picking arguably the greatest superhero of all, I realized I might actually be able to create a team of great superhero’s because of the way the draft was going. And I indeed was actually able to put together what is arguably the greatest Team of superhero’s known to mankind. Everyone knows a Team is better than a group of individuals. Or at least I Hope everyone does. Anyway, after adding the Flash the only member left was Aquaman. The much maligned Aquaman I might add. As he doesn’t really bring that much to the team. So I felt my team was already complete. But then I realized it was missing something, I couldn’t put my finger on it at first, it then it hit me like a dump truck through a brick yard. This team needs mans best friend. And what other friend than arguably the greatest crime fighting canine in history.
My final pick and possibly team MVP -
|
He is a male Great Dane and lifelong companion of amateur detective Shaggy Rogers, with whom he shares many personality traits. He features a mix of both canine and human behaviors (reminiscent of other funny animals in the Golden age of American animation); treated by his friends more or less as an equal while speaking in a famous (and much parodied) dog-like voice. His catchphrase is "Scooby-Dooby-Doo! |

Pick 1: Mom
Who's the person who always cleaned up after you? Who's the person who most likely made you dinner? Who's the person that would work a full-time job, and still somehow find the time to do PTA and go to all your sporting events and/or concerts/plays/etc.? Who's the person that would take care of you when you were sick? Who's the person that would delay cancer treatment, so they could attend your college graduation?
The answer: Mom.
If your mom isn't your #1 hero, you're doing it wrong. |
|
Pick 2: Jack Bauer
Jack Bauer can survive nuclear explosions, kill terrorists, take down corrupt government officials, and even become president, but his most impressive hero power might be his ability to teleport to any place in the greater L.A. area in under 30 minutes. |
|
MacGyvered = "To diffuse or overcome a sticky situation by using insignificant objects....such as paperclips, chewing gum, or contraceptive devices "
The dude is the human version of a Swiss Army Knife, and a true-blooded American Hero.[ |
|
John McClane: he's not the hero you wanted, but when the going gets tough, he's the hero you need. |
|
PICK 5
Xena:: She's both a kick-ass warrior, and a princess. What more do you need from a hero?
Honorable mention: Leia Organa (she also could have fit into this slot in my team).
|
Brian
|
Pick #1
Enrique Iglesias.
In 2001 he promised to be my hero and I’ve been holding him to it ever since.
Plus look at all these charities he supports
|
|
pick #2
Bonnie Tyler
I just want her to know she doesn’t need a hero, she is one. You go girl. |
|
Tracy Chapman.
She's flawless, really. Every song is an absolute masterpiece. |
|
Carly Rae Jepsen
Where Tracy's songs are all masterpieces, every CRJ song is (what the hip gays call) a bop. SO MANY GREAT ONES.
Go buy E•MO•TION on itunes, you'll thank me later. |
|
So I’ve come to realize my team is missing the classic “hero” and figure maybe it needs a hand in that department. Unfortunately Josh is a skank and stole my favorite super hero, so I figured this might make sense as a back-up:
Mysterio!
I haven’t seen Far From Home yet, but from the trailers this guy seems like he’s gonna be an awesome addition to the MCU. Superhero sent from a different Earth to save ours? And befriends Spider-Man?? I’m sold. Plus he’s Jake Gyllenhaal. Can’t go wrong with that. |
