The town of Makadewa, Maine, is a quiet resort town on the coast of Maine, located just outside of Acadia National Park. It's known for boating, fishing, hunting, and little else beyond that... but that may be changing very soon. The town is changing, heralded by the arrival of new faces in town, as well as new threats.

Makadewa is small; it's unassuming; and it's under attack by forces as of yet unseen.

Something is brewing, and only our four heroes can stop it before it consumes the town, and maybe even the world, whole.

Emily, The Chosen, a businesswoman from Oregon seeking answers about her origins.
Ruby, The Crooked, a drifter and kleptomaniac on the run from both sides of the law.
Zeke, The Wronged, a man living off the grid who will do anything to find the missing love of his life.
...and Levi, The Mundane, an Average Human Male.

Welcome to Monster of the Week!

A few months ago, I got a few people together to do an experimental run to adapt the tabletop roleplaying game Monster of the Week into an online game, with plans to then open the game up to sign ups. However, plans changed, and instead of doing it as a game on the boards, we ended up switching to an audio format, and extending the the story of our brave heroes into a longer podcast.

To get an idea of who these characters are before you start listening, you'll definitely need to read the text prologues, and read them in the suggested order:


This is a pretty simple rpg, and probably more of a collaborative story than a game. Curtis is playing Ruby, JJ is playing Emily, Boc is playing Zeke, and Brian is playing Levi. And I am the Keeper, which means I'm playing everyone and everything else!

We'll be releasing a new episode or two of the podcast portion each week, as edited by Curtis.

We get better as we go, I promise.

I'm really interested in experimenting with new stories and characters and formats (and maybe even systems) in the future, btw! So stay tuned, if you decide while listening that this sounds like fun, I may have some chances for new people in the not-so-distant future!

Now that I've gotten my feet wet on this, I have a lot of ideas that won't fit in just this one campaign.
