new from the Coens:

"The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is a six-part Western anthology film, a series of tales about the American frontier told through the unique and incomparable voice of Joel and Ethan Coen. Each chapter tells a distinct story about the American West."

Good stuff. The Coens are so great

The stories ranked:

1. The Gal Who Got Rattled
2. Ballad of Buster Scruggs
3. No Algodences
4. All Gold Canyon
5. Meal Ticket
6. The Mortal Remains

Something like that. The first two and the sixth are locked in place, the rest could move around prob

Overall entertaining and the anthology aspect worked pretty well. Some stories I wish ended sooner, some I wanted more out of, some were good enough to be feature length. Apparently it was originally supposed to be a mini series but got turned into a movie. It probably would've benefited as a miniseries but it still worked for me

Good cast and looked really great, the final shot of gal who got rattled was a beaut. “Mr Arthur had no idea what he’d say to Billy Knapp”

I really enjoyed the first two, but thought it went downhill pretty fast from there.

I take that back. The one with the amputee was pretty good, too.
by first 2, I mean in the order shown.

Watched this last nite. I think Curtis is spot on with his rankings. I think it’s worth the watch but was hoping for a little more from the Coens tbh.

Would have been happy with a full movie out of the first two.
