ten minutes into this preview and i’m already obsessed. i’m a slut for a good dystopian rpg with character customization and the whole cyberpunk aesthetic is fuckin dope
just finished the video and i’m hyped. even knowing that the assets are all liable to change, that they have a big focus on lore and narrative is really exciting. i’ve been craving a new game with really immersive storytelling that isn’t a new installment of a franchise. we happy few had promised a really strong narrative, and it’s good for what it is, but i wasn’t very impressed by the depth of the worldbuilding at the end of the day.
Usually in games where they say that your choices affect the narrative they either hardly do or just don't, this one seems to actually do it, which I'm pretty hyped about.
That + you can choose to do things in different ways = insane replay value.
FPV is a 50/50 thing though...customizing your character for what? you don't get to see your jacket or hat or whatever other than in cutscenes. I just wished they could have made that optional!
"There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."
Why didn't Witcher 3 click for you Boc? I kind of stopped playing it and didn't give it much of a chance, but have definitely been wanting to go back to it. This trailer will probably make me do just that to scratch an invisible itch.
I was a huge Witcher 3 (and the others, to a lesser extent) fan, and I prefer scifi settings to fantasy in general so this looks even better. I just hope they can pull off an original custom made character driven story as well as they could with Witcher and all the involved source material.
idk, I couldn't get invested in it story-wise despite loving the look of it/the emphasis on choice. I think I might just not like medieval fantasy games? Cuz I couldn't get into Skyrim either despite liking the Fallout games
