Been looking forward to this for awhile. I love Bo Burnham and I'm PROUD of him. Looks like another banger from A24. Just premiered to limited screens, not sure if it's gonna get a full release or not
I saw it two weeks ago with a live QnA with Bo Burnham, Elsie Fisher and some other boy in the movie. It was a very good movie! I too enjoy Bo a lot and have been following his career for about a decade. I feel like when people speak about Bo they all say the same thing... how they are proud of him. Very interesting, enjoy
I heard about him when I was super young since he's from Massachusetts. Some of my friends went to high school with him. Also been tracking his career from really early so it's nice to see success keep coming his way
This might be the most 'real' feeling movie I've...EVER seen?? It absolutely nailed that period of life with pretty much no frills/exaggeration while still being entertaining. There were so many universally relatable moments even if you weren't part of Kayla's exact situation
The campfire scene was fantastic. I appreciate that Bo didn't break with the rest of the movie's dialogue and make that some eloquent monologue that the dad gives. It felt very RAW/sloppy/off-the-cuff which just made it feel all the more powerful
The truth or dare scene was another standout for...different reasons. That was probably the most impressively directed scene of the movie, the dread/tension was palpable and it felt like it was dragging on forever (in a good/purposeful way)
Also loved the little scene at the end with Kayla/Gabe's "date". That was some much needed catharsis after all the social dread of the rest of the movie
