done -- I'm going to pass on the anecdote, because I just spent 10 minutes trying to remember the names of my favorite teachers from high school and middle school, and couldn't remember their names, and it made me sad.

My favorite teacher was really in my sophomore year but I felt bad I couldn't remember his name - he taught history, though. I did something bad and I felt like I disappointed him because I really respected him. But he was still good to me. And I thought I was his favorite lol.

Mr. Ogazalak, who is the only teacher I ever had I am facebook friends with and had a silly assignment in my junior year that we would write a letter to ourselves 10 years later and he actually ended up taking the time to track me down and send it to me last year, so that was p cool. |

My favorite teacher was Lennart Trapp because that's the only name I could remember. He was a great math teacher, though. JK
My actual favorite teacher was Christer Wing, because unlike many of my other math teachers, he actually made me want to learn math. He had a talent of teaching.

Mr Kraus. Had him for 8th grade for three different periods: We had a double combined period for Advanced English and Social Studies (so that we could get judged on our English while writing papers for social studies). We spent a lot of time debating issues in that class and he was awesome had playing devil's advocate so that, up until the final day of class, nobody knew his actual opinions or beliefs. He forced you to actually figure out what you believed *and* to defend it. We even had a mock constitutional convention in class where we ended up creating our own US Constitution (that almost had three houses in the legislature).
Separately, I also had him for Algebra 2, where to this day I still with my kids use Kraus' Laws (he had them for algebra, fractions, word problems, the "cross your heart bra" method, and he introduced us to the mystical Chief Sohcahtoa).
He is one of two teachers I would put here for best I ever had and like noted above, he's the only one I actually have friended on FB.
