In the year 2286, the previously fabled dream of time travel has finally become a reality. A group of researchers calling themselves the Arcana organization are perfecting time-bending mechanisms that will allow humans to travel up to millions of years back in time in order to investigate some of the greatest and most pervasive historical mysteries to have plagued humankind. Being launched into the unknown with no guarantee of ever returning is not a prospect many are able to cope with, but the researchers know there are some out there who are crazy and curious enough to seek out the experience. As a result, the Arcana organization are conducting preparatory "test runs" on the brave souls who wish to be considered for captaincy of the dangerous time-hopping missions.
Generation I of Arcana spanned four ~wild~ seasons, concluding in an explosive All Stars season conducted in a distant galaxy. Land Before Time fifth placer Helena Oh beat out fellow finalists Kiara Frazer (Garden of Eden) and Thomas Vanderbilt (Land Before Time) in a 6-5-0 vote to become the fourth and final Captain of the first generation. Now, the organization is preparing to engage in its second generation of test runs, beginning with a grueling trip to the depths of the ice ages of the Cryogenian era, where a daring new class of Trialists will brave the harsh conditions and face Arcana's toughest season yet in a bid to become the inaugural captain of generation II.
Season 5 of Arcana differs from previous incarnations in that it is a Blood vs Water game.
This means you should apply with a partner (each of you will need to fill out individual applications, and list each other as preferred partners where specified). Individual applicants will be paired off by us if required, but pairs that apply together will be prioritized during the casting process. Please also be aware that despite the Blood vs Water twist, this is still an ALIAS game. Your partner should be the only other player whose identity you know. Try to avoid discussing your intentions to apply with others outside of your intended partner for this reason. Players from generation I (including All Stars) are welcome to reapply and ~reinvent themselves~ as a new character.
Applications will CLOSE on the 11th May. We may move the closing date forward if we deem it necessary. The game is scheduled to start on MAY 12TH and will most likely last just under six weeks.

hay guys, due to ~unexpected demand~ we're gonna close apps early on SATURDAY EST this weekend (so a week earlier than originally intended). this'll give us more time to make sure we select the best possible cast and plan for everything. if you have already applied but your partner hasn't, try and encourage them to do so soon! if you're still wanting to apply with someone, you have ~3ish days to do so!
