I have had a near-death experience -- My Argentinian colleague decided he needed to drive like an Argentinian as we were plummeting down this 1-lane road at 16,000 feet elevation in the Andes. The "ditch" was a 2000 m drop to a canyon below. I thought for sure I was dead like 5 or 6 times on that drive.

I have had something valuable stolen from me -- 2 months ago, someone broke into my house and stole about $3k in electronics.

I have had to dial 911 -- Yep, a couple of times. One for a car accident, and another for a friend to got hurt.

I have written someone a letter -- Duh. I'm old, remember? How else would people communicate pre-internet?

I have been in a car crash -- A couple of them. None too serious, other than the deer that decided to jump onto the hood of my car when I was going 80 mph. Fucker ruined the best car I've ever owned.

I'm reading this thinking you were in Paraguay when your drunk uncle hit you on your bike and while they were tending to you someone stole the bike

Let's see...

Radio: I was interviewed a couple times each season I was captain of the track or cross country team while in high school for the weekly sports show.

TV: I was on local access TV in high school for a quiz bowl competition, then on the local sports report a bunch during their sports segments. I've also given a public lecture at the University I work at, which was then broadcast on the university's cable channel.

Movie: I was an extra in the Hollywood (non-)blockbuster, Angus. Since that movie is older than most of the people here, and it wasn't even good enough to make it to release on DVD, I doubt most people have seen it. It did have James Van der Beek and Ariana Richards (the girl from Jurassic Park) in it, plus a couple other people you might know.

- One last year. And one time when in an old trailer we had, the metal heavy awning fell just as I went inside. It would have fell down on me and I dunno if I would have died, but I would have definitely had something amputated.

- Yes! But not for very long. 8th birthday. It was on a Sunday so Mr C got drunk, watched football and was an asshole to me. Then I got into a fight with my mom while we were walking a trail, so I ran away and hid in a field all day long. I started walking back cause I wanted to hang out in my fort and Mr. C saw me outside and said Heeeeyyy birthday boyyyy.

Ya, I did a couple interviews as a kid for the news. Well one was my grandma at the airport and I was with her. The other was for an "invent an alien" competition in 5th grade. It actually got TV I was very proud. My dad taped a hockey game over it.

Apparently there was a family vacation in Mexico where we got swept out in the ocean and had to use the rope to save ourselves. I was pretty young so I don't remember.

A couple. I have never been driving in a crash (I did hit a couple non moving things when I first got my license). However I have been involved in 2 car accidents as a passenger. Neither were super bad though.

Yes, I have lived in both US and Canada. Been to Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Morocco (for a day). Also was in Germany and France just in the airport for a connection.

Fun fact: I have a second tongue strap so not only can I not roll my tongue but I cannot stick my tongue out very far nor can really lift my tongue up at all.

Nah I am good for now. It would be pretty interesting to live in a European country, but I think I would want to come back after a while. I do miss Canada, but it is so damn cold.
