I just copy-pasta'd the list of common recreational drugs from wikipedia.

Also, you are free to tell which ones you have tried, which ones you like, which ones you hate.

Even though I'm not sure what a couple of those things are, I voted to make them all legal, as long as they are regulated and taxed. Remove the need for back-alley transactions, and the crime levels drastically decrease.

The ones that are already legal have the highest rates of addiction as it is.

Global legalization isn't the answer, imo.

Just out of curiosity Primate, I'm interested in knowing where you draw the line. Which drugs do you think should be legalised (if any) and which ones do you think should remain illegal?

For now, cannabis., but on a trial basis. Not enough data out there to know if it eliminates the street dealer.

I mean, do you folks seriously think you should be able to go to Wal-Mart and buy meth, coke, and heroin over the counter. Do you not see an even bigger epidemic than we have now?

You meant cannabis besides what is already legal or only cannabis, making the other ones ilegal?

Apparently, when those were legal (early 20th century) they weren't such a big problem.

If you were a person that would normally buy meth from the guy in the trenchcoat behind the 7-11, I'm sure as hell rather they buy it from a licensed pharmacist inside the Walgreens. Plus, since I don't partake in those things, the tax money from the revenue on those products would help to lower my medical bills. As a non-user, it's a win-win.

People on those substances won't be working or otherwise contributing to society for long. By increasing their number, your health care will get exponentially more expensive.

It was a different world altogether.

Besides what is already legal. Although alcohol is one of the worst, but trying to unwind something that is socially acceptable is a fool's errand.
