BUY THIS GAME.

IMMEDIATELY.

Game of the year for me already, and I have only played it for an hour.

Summary of my fail so far:

I am playing on classic difficulty with saves enabled. I was thrust into the introductory mission having bypassed the tutorial. I figured I didn't need it because I played the original!

How wrong I was. I lost 2 of my 4 man team within 3 turns. Bad times.

But this was followed up by the complete massacre of my squad on an abduction mission in Mexico.

When the first month came to a close, Egypt withdrew from funding me. I now look set to lose Mexico and USA too.

The game is just as challenging as the original, if not more.

Is anyone else playing?

I will fail all my classes if I get it now, Ill wait for x-mas break

Yeah I'll wait until Christmas when things die down online a bit. Way too addictive to play something like this.

Since I am a loser dropout scumbag, I have no such commitments to keep me from playing!

This stuff is the cocaine of gaming.

Maybe I'll play it just a little bit before the semester ends

I have completed it now though!

And I would recommend it to anybody, especially those who played the original game.

I am going to do another play through in a few days, but this time I am going to try out the new ironman mode, which prevents you from reloading earlier saves.

What are the difficulty settings?

Easy
Normal
Classic
Impossible

All but classic should speak for themselves.

Classic difficulty is what the game was made to be played on. It is supposed to be the mode which resembles the difficulty of the old game best. It is what I played on, and would recommend everyone else does too.

As I mentioned, there is also the optional ironman mode for each of these difficulties, which stops you from reloading if your squad die. But I would save that for a second play through, unless you want it to be even more challenging.

Just played first two missions, like it a lot so far !

But I played on normal, might start again on classic :)

Defo going to play it on classic when I get it!
