KC and Nofo were catching their breath at the very top of the cliff when Igor and Bryce showed up. The two heaved their bodies up and over the top edge of the cliff, landing on their backs and remaining there for a bit to catch their breath.

KC reached his paw over the edge of the cliff for Rose and expected a dirty raccoon paw to grasp onto it. But the raccoon never came. KC looked over at Bryce and Igor, who informed him of Rose's fate.

"But..." KC began. "She's my pumpkin :( " he said as he retracted his paw and howled into the night.

"About time you joined me." said Curtis from behind them.

"holy shit ginger ninja how'd you get up here so quick?" asked Igor.

"The elevator? How else?" Curtis asked.

Curtis motioned behind him and revealed a rope and pulley style elevator system. The frustrated group frowned as KC howled again at Rose's avoidable fate.


They hardly had to search around for the witch's house. Just beyond some thick brush was a small, decrepit hut made of vines, twine, and just about anything else that could be foraged from the area.



Smoke continued to billow out of the chimney as candle light shined out through the windows, illuminating the murky puddles of swamp water that surrounded the cabin.

"Let's just get this shit over with." said Nofo as he led the way towards the hut. He approached the wooden door and lightly tapped on it with his wing, allowing the door to slowly press open on its own. Nofo looked around and shrugged as he took the first step in.

The interior was dusty and reeked of any number of smells.

"It's fuckin dank as hell in here." said Igor as he breathed it all in with a smile on his face.

Half empty bottles of...god knows what lined many crooked shelves and covered nearly every available surface while dusty old parchments of paper littered the creaky wooden floorboards.

A floorboard behind them croaked as the front door slammed shut.

"Who..who-who..who goes there?" asked Nofo. Not scared, just an owl.





A tall figure cloaked in royal red stood before the group.

"I've been expecting you." the witch said softly. "Before we begin, I must see if you're worthy. Win my little game and I'll entertain your pleas. Lose...and you may not survive."



ELIMINATION QUEST




You will be playing a little game called...Love Letter!

- The witch has laid several cards on the table before you. It's time to play her game.

- The game is incredibly simple (though may seem hard to grasp at first). The goal of a round is to either be the last player standing or to be holding onto the highest value card when all cards in the draw deck have been picked. The highest card is the Princess (8).

- For our purposes, the ultimate goal is to win two rounds of Love Letter. Whoever wins two rounds first will be safe from elimination. The other three will be marked for elimination.

- I'll begin by randomizing the deck and PM'ing each of you your starting card. We tried to run this live tonight but not everyone could be here, so we're gonna have to do it the slower and more painful way on the board. Please check back as often as you can so you can make your turns and decisions when needed.

- IMPORTANT: You absolutely cannot tell anyone else what card(s) you currently have, whether you're eliminated or not. You cannot coach anyone on what to do. You can't talk privately about this game as it's ongoing at all, unless you want to say things in the thread. You're all facing each other at a table, you can't get away with private communication. Anyone caught doing this will be immediately eliminated.
