Pig-pen loved to play in the dirt. Pig-pen's parents didn't. He hated night time, because night time meant bath time. This night, he thought he'd outsmart his parents and sneak out into the pumpkin patch to continue playing. He had just made a very nice pile of dirt when he heard a twig break behind him.
"Dad, is that you?" he asked.
No answer.
"Mom?"
No answer.
It was as that point that Pig-pen turned around, only to see a shadow of a person step out from behind the fence-line. Before he could even get off the ground, a shovel came crashing down onto his head. One more blow to the back of his head, and Pig-pen would spend the rest of his days laying in his favorite dirt.
