It is nice to meet you. You might recognize me from the Song You Last Listened To topic where I have posted 510 songs no one gives a shit about. Four years ago I helped our very own Paul with 3/4ths of Labyrinth 3, micromanaging the small details of the Labyrinth while Paul did the heavy lifting, posting sick nasty flavor like no one but Paul can post. Two years ago, the promising but ill-fated Labyrinth 4 was killed off in its infancy because Paul had much more important things to focus on. This was a disheartening blow. We've had Mad Kings, Animans and Spokky Castles that used the formula to varying degrees of success. Which has long made me want to host my own Labyrinth game.

Since there are quite a few new posters here that have never played a Labyrinth game, here's a very brief, simplified overview. Labyrinth is a hidden traitor game wherein innocents try to climb out of the depths of the Labyrinth while psychopaths and unspeakable things stalk them through the confusing corridors of the maze. It is the bastard child of the movie Cube, the hidden traitor board game genre and Dungeons & Dragons with a sprinkle of Mafia on top.

Like the movie Cube strangers will have to work together to navigate a Labyrinth full of deadly challenges, fatal traps and other obstacles in order to find the exit. Like Dungeons & Dragons you would be creating a character. These games are best served with people roleplaying as a character that they have created themselves. It would be offsite and strictly alias. Like Mafia, every prisoner would be assigned a role and a power that will help (or hurt) them and their group in the halls of the Labyrinth. And much like hidden traitor games, some of your fellow prisoners will be actively working against you, hoping to stop you from escaping in one piece. There will be blood.

Here are links to the boards from the previous games if you have no idea what I'm talking about and would like to look over them to get a sense of what playing a game might look like. Unfortunately a lot of them suffer from broken image links, but you can still get a sense of what goes into and along with one of the games. Well, you can't see shit on the Labyrinth 4 board but I wanted to include it anyway.

This would of course not be a canon Labyrinth 5 or anything since Paul is not involved. There will be no Willis or evil space jelly beans. But I've got a couple of different ideas that branch out in pretty different directions and I would like to settle on one of them and host. So I am making this poll to see how many people that currently visit FE would be interested in diving into a Labyrinth style game. Everyone is welcome (maybe) but only vote yes if you would actually sign up and would be an active player.

Anyway, thank you for your time. I've been wanting to post this for a while, but I never was confident that I could pull of solo hosting duty when the mighty Von Paulus struggled with it himself. But now, I'm ready to get one of these games up and running again for the first time in a while. Now, if you will excuse me I'm off to post my 511th song in the music thread.
