THE AGE OLD QUESTION
The scenario is this. A roleblocker blocks The Godfather. The Godfather sent one of their goons out for the kill. Is the kill blocked because the Don was blocked or does the goon who was sent have to be blocked?
We've seen it done both ways here and it'd be nice to get opinions and maybe even a constant way of doing it. There's also other interesting scenarios that arise when you add redirector and such
THOUGHTS? Which should it be and why?

If the GF orders a hit, and some lowlife comes up and dick-punches the GF, the goon is still going to go do the hit, because he doesn't want to incur the wrath of the GF, especially after someone punches him in the dick.
I never understood why blocking the GF would block the kill, unless they were the killer themselves.

The rationale behind Don Block is that it's The Godfather's actual role/night action to send a player to kill someone else and mafia doesn't decide as a group until Don is dead. So a roleblocker would block Don from using their role

I get the rationale, but just think it's dumb. :)
One way to get around this -- stop having the GF as an almost automatic role in every game.

I agree with Spin. I play that the GF is the ultimate "decider" on actions in most cases, but that the individuals do the actions. It's why if there is an inactive mafia player I let the GF decide on the action, but it is the player, not the action, that does it.
It's the equivalent of not letting the GF leave home, but he can still have goons kill. I think it hampers the mafia too much and makes the GF susceptible to being caught much too easy, since blocking him would remove a kill and make him suspect. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

to me it comes down to active verses passive abilities. you cant role block a BP so someone else can kill them. and imo the Godfather sending someone out for a kill is a passive ability since all they do is tell them who to kill.

Personally I can never keep track of which one I even prefer, every time I host attws I can never remember which one I used in the past. I think I've just become accustomed to both over time

I think the best argument for goon block is that the mafia kill is a factional kill, not just the don's role since it can be continued after he dies

Host another one and then you can make it your definitive decision on which you prefer. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

this could be really fun if done after the Mafia Championships are over. could open the game up to those people as well and set a new record for players.

Does blocking the don block all mafia actions or just the kill? |

If it is like this then the watcher should see the don at the killers place and the tracker should see the don visiting the killer imo. Like either it is a normal action that can be blocked, tracked, etc. or it is immune to all these things because it is like a passive ability. That'd make sense to me at least. More fan of the GF cannot be blocked / goon has to be blocked option.

I'd not let the don decide on other actions / activate actions of inactive scum as that is not really their role. I don't host though :P (since I suck at flavor / lazy af)
