I've been playing this game a lot over the past week. It's very fun.
Basically this game is a little RPG /strategy roguelike. You play as a great historical 19th/early 20th century figure like Charles Darwin or Marie Curie, a member of the adventurers club. The club is going to honor its most famous member with a statue. You must become the most famous by completing 6 great expeditions to find the lost golden pyramids. You'll run into giant birds, angry natives, dinosaurs, mysterious curses, etc. It's all very over the top old fashioned adventure novel style. The graphics are old PC game pixel style which adds to the charm.
Its early access but supposed to leave and go full release in the next few weeks. It's great if you don't really have a lot of time to play at a time. Each expedition, especially the early ones, are really quick and get progressively longer and more difficult. It's pretty well paced and balanced. I just finally won for the very first time on the normal difficulty. It was tough! There's a lot of luck involved but also a lot of strategy.
It's good try it | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

I decided to play as one of the explorers who prefers animal companions to humans. During my journeys I recruited a camel to my team only to realize camels suck, so I dismissed it immediately. Later, my final trek was going poorly. I was out of food, my sanity was gone, and it looked like this could be the end. When you're low on sanity, weird things start happening. Usually, its bad things, like your party killing each other. In this case, my explorer was in her darkest hour, when suddenly someone appeared from the darkness. It was Missy Clements! My abandoned camel! She offered me mangoes and decided to stay to help me!

Rose, did you continue this game???
I looked through your steam library and added quite a few games to my wishlist, this being one of them. Seems a little out there for me, but I still want to give it a shot!

I did! I couldn't abandon the camel again (there was a dark feeling whenever I tried) so I had to send off the water buffalo, which was annoying. In the end we narrowly escaped the region with loot and treasures and my camel vanished once more when we were about to return to civilization, leaving me wondering if it had been naught but a dream.
Since then I've played a ton. It's a lot of fun! The games don't last TOO long (the first 2 rounds of 6 are extremely quick too if you've bored and want to kill 10 minutes and get something started) so you can end up with a lot of little stories and each trek still feels NEW.
The difficulty levels are also all pretty good. The easiest mode is fun if you want to go OP explorer of worlds and loot the treasures, and hard mode is great if you want everything to go horribly, horribly wrong (and get a great story out of it as you try to figure out a way to survive it) | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

I have unlocked nearly every explorer but the one that requires the natives to still like you when you leave | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

Oh, it's a bunch of little stories? I thought it was one long game. That is probably better for me anyway. I could hop on and play through and then hop off and not have to worry about forgetting about the storyline.

Basically you play as an explorer who's part of a great explorers club, but now you're on a quest to prove that you are the GREATEST, so you embark on 6 adventures to different lands (with increasing size) to prove yourself. The story comes out of random events and mistakes and bad choices and everything else. It's got kind of a Oregon Trail style of gameplay. That "oh shit I forgot to pack food and now we're all going mad and there are dinosaurs approaching" style.

Nope, sadly though playing and livestreaming with a chat would be ideal for this game. | d ( i n o s r o a ) r
