Sausage Island returns for its 11th season!
After Rodney Lavoie Jr. survived the Day of the Dead, Lex and Brett fled the country once again to continue on their journey to return to Sausage Island in time for Heroes vs. Villains. However, as always, the two have found themselves stranded in an unfamiliar land; China.
Common Chinese legend speaks of the Dragon King and its nine sons, each of which were endowed with unique abilities. The myth states that the Dragon King and his offspring were tasked with protecting the mountains and oceans of China. Today, they are often referred to as The Nine Dragons.
Now, Lex, Brett, and eighteen brand new castaways find themselves stranded in the Huangshan Mountains, just at the base of what's known as Purple Cloud Peak. Defined by its jagged granite peaks, hot springs, sunrises, and winter snow; Mount Huang offers a view of the clouds from above, known as the Sea of Clouds.
It is here where our final batch of eighteen new castaways will compete for the title of Sole Survivor. Who will outwit, outplay, and outlast the competition?
Welcome to Sausage Island 11: The Nine Dragons!
If you wish to play, we have a quick application for you to go through. It's over AIM or Skype and it's very brief. We'd just like to ask a few questions and get to know you a bit. In order to apply, IM either Lex at g1nger23 or Brett at iamsovrycool. (Or contact Lex on Skype at curtislost).
This season of Sausage Island will be STRICTLY ALIAS! We did this in the last three seasons and it was very successful. We request that you do not tell anyone who you are applying as, and if you are cast, do not reveal your true identity to any fellow players. If you do, you will risk being booted from the game. If you can't follow this rule, please do not apply!
This will be the FINAL season that includes an all new cast. If you've ever considered applying we urge you to do so, as this will be your final chance to play before Sausage Island wraps up with Heroes vs. Villains later this year.
The tentative start date is Tuesday May 10th, with the cast being informed via AIM/Skype on Monday the 9th. This may change depending on the amount of applications received.

Hi! It's basically an online version of Survivor.
The basic format for Survivor is like this:
The game starts out with people split into tribes, which then compete in challenges. The winning tribe (s) remain intact for the round, the losing tribe(s) are forced to vote someone from their tribe out of the game.
There are twists that effect the votes, like hidden immunity idols, which are played after all votes are cast but before they are revealed, and cancels votes for that person. There are also tribe swaps and other things that come into place.
After a certain point (usually around 12-9 players left) the tribe phase ends and the game goes individual, with one merged tribe, and everyone fighting for a single immunity necklace in the challenges. Everyone goes to tribal to vote someone out, and only the person with immunity is guarenteed safe.
People form alliances and voting blocks, and either betray each other or stick together. If you're unfamiliar with the show/game, there can be a surprising amount of strategy involved. People talk a lot over AIM to bond and talk strategy. You also get a confessional to post your thoughts in and vote in, ATTWS style.
The basic timeline is a round every 2/3 days:
1. Challenge (live or nonlive: live lasts a few hours and gives results that night, bumping tribal council start to day 1. Non-live lasts roughly 24 hours and isn't as time sensitive)
2. Tribal council begins. Lasts roughly 24 hours
3. Tribal council results posted, announcement of the time/type of challenge is posted
Basic jist though it's that it's a fun game about making bonds and breaking bonds, which ends up with a lot of interesting twists and emergent story. There are betrayals, power struggles, heroes and villains, underdogs, twists, and blindsides.

Oh, and around the same point that the tribe merges, the people who get voted out start to become members of the jury. Once the game gets down to 2 or 3 players, the power shifts to the jury, and they get to decide who wins by each casting a vote. So if you're super strategic but a huge asshole, there's a good chance not enough people will vote for you to win. On the other hand, even if you were the nicest person possible, if you have no argument for why you were the best player, the jury might not respect you enough to vote for you. | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

Thank you Rose for the recap! I have seen survivor a few times, and with your description I get the basic idea. I'm not sure if it's something I can commit to multiple hour long live challenges on a regular basis, though. Have a blast! | | |
