Survivor: Cagayan, also known as Survivor: Cagayan — Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty,[3][4] is the twenty-eighth season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor. The season filmed from July 11–August 18, 2013,[5] and premiered on February 26, 2014, with the first two episodes screened back-to-back,[4][6][7] featuring 18 new players divided into three tribes of six based on dominant attribute — athleticism, intelligence, and attractiveness.[8][9] For the first time since Survivor: Thailand in 2002, the finale and live reunion show did not take place on a Sunday but instead aired in the show's regular time slot on May 21, 2014. That night, Tony Vlachos was named the Sole Survivor over Yung "Woo" Hwang by a vote of 8–1.

The fourth consecutive season to be filmed in the Philippines, this season features the return of a hidden immunity idol that can be used at Tribal Council after the votes have been read (similar to Survivor: Panama and Survivor: Cook Islands), which was hidden once the tribes merged, except this idol came without a clue.[10] This is in addition to hidden immunity idols that must be played after the votes are cast but before they are read, as seen in Survivor: Fiji onward. This is also the first time in 10 seasons, since Survivor: Tocantins, to feature a final two instead of a final three.

Survivor: Palau



Survivor: Palau is the tenth season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor. The season filmed from November 1, 2004 through December 9, 2004 and premiered on February 17, 2005. Filming took place in Koror, Palau. Hosted by Jeff Probst, it consisted of the usual 39 days of gameplay with 20 competitors, the most the series had ever began with.

For the second time since the series' premiere, the contestants selected the tribes instead of the producers. The self-selection into two tribes of nine left two contestants not chosen and immediately eliminated from the game. The two tribes were named Ulong (named after Ulong Island, one of Palau's tourist spots) and Koror (named after the capital city of Palau at the time). In the game, Koror dominated from the very beginning, winning every immunity challenge and all but three reward challenges. Mid-game, having survived alone at Ulong after the entirety of her tribe had been voted out or eliminated at tribal councils, remaining member Stephenie LaGrossa received a map to Koror. While the players at the finale spoke of this as a merger, the producers have described Palau as the only season without a merge. In the end, fire lieutenant Tom Westman defeated advertising executive Katie Gallagher in a 6–1 jury vote to become the Sole Survivor
