Survivor: Worlds Apart

Posted Image

Survivor: Worlds Apart is the 30th season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor, which premiered on February 25, 2015, with the season finale on May 20, 2015. It was filmed in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, the same location as Survivor: Nicaragua, Survivor: Redemption Island, and Survivor: San Juan del Sur,[1] and features three tribes of six new players divided by social class: white collar, blue collar, and no collar. This season introduced the concept of an extra vote, in which one player can vote twice at a single Tribal Council, which was offered during the season's Survivor Auction.[2] This season also saw the return of the firemaking tiebreaker challenge, last used in Survivor: Gabon.

The two-hour season finale and one-hour reunion special aired on May 20, 2015, where Mike Holloway was named the winner over Carolyn Rivera and Will Sims II in a 6–1–1 vote.

Survivor: All-Stars

Survivor: All-Stars is the eighth season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor. It was filmed from November 3, 2003 through December 11, 2003 and premiered on February 1, 2004 after Super Bowl XXXVIII. It was set on the Pearl Islands of Panama, where the previous season Survivor: Pearl Islands had just wrapped up. Hosted by Jeff Probst, it consisted of the usual 39 days of gameplay with, for the first time, 18 competitors instead of the usual 16, and three tribes instead of the usual two.

The winner was Amber Brkich, who was declared the Sole Survivor after a victory over Rob "Boston Rob" Mariano with a 4–3 jury vote. At the end of the live reunion show, a twist called America's Tribal Council was announced. It involved the public voting to award a second million-dollar prize. Rupert Boneham won the million dollars over runners up Mariano, Colby Donaldson, and Tom Buchanan.

Each round I'll be posing a question for all polls. Round one question is a sort of grading rubric for the season:

Rate the season 1-10 on the winner
Rate the season 1-10 on entertainment
Rate the season 1-10 on the cast overall
Rate the season 1-10 on gameplay

Worlds Apart
Rate the season 1-10 on the winner 5
Rate the season 1-10 on entertainment 2
Rate the season 1-10 on the cast overall 2
Rate the season 1-10 on gameplay 2

Allstars
Rate the season 1-10 on the winner 5
Rate the season 1-10 on entertainment 6
Rate the season 1-10 on the cast overall 8
Rate the season 1-10 on gameplay 6

Allstars was fun to watch because I did like and root for Boston Rob and Amber. I probably watched this season without seeing several of the seasons before it.

I hated Worlds Apart. It's majority alliance was very unlikeable to me. I didn't even like the minority alliance much. I'd probably pick One World over this season. Just meh to me. It kind of reminds me of South Pacific...you'd think the cast would bring a good season but they just did not.

Allstars.

yeah all stars for me too. worlds apart was great pre-merge but once the merge came i really didn't like it that much at all. all stars was great because there were just so many classic players that season that will probably never play again

I liked both these seasons but I loved All-Stars. I think I even still own it on VHS. :P

Rodney couldn't pull the fourth quarter comeback to come from behind and pull this one out but it was close. Mostly because apart from the legendary players, all stars wasn't incredibly exciting.
"So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

Worse thing about All-Stars was losing Rob Cesternino at all/so early. Other than that, I was happy with it.

Never been a fan of AS. Mike is one of my favorite players/winners, so this one is easy for me.

All-Stars
Winner: 5/10 (I get why Amber won, but this was BR's game)
Entertainment: 6/10 (The first couple of episodes are EXCELLENT, then it kind of loses its charm)
Cast: 8/10 (The winner probably shouldn't have been there at all and there were some other more random choices in place of people that didn't want to do it, but I guess everything happens for a reason)
Gameplay: 5/10 (They vote out the winners and the popular people, BR breaks some deals and that's kind of it)

Worlds Apart
Winner: 8/10 (Mike dominated IMO, his competition didn't do a good job of managing the jury, and his other competition was hated)
Entertainment: 5/10 (Starts off good, then gets REALLY ugly and uncomfortable)
Cast: 5/10 (Some messed up people in this cast, but sometimes that messed up part is strangely entertaining)
Gameplay: 5/10 (The blindsides weren't really on power players and the winner wasn't a strategic mastermind or anything)

I feel like Worlds Apart is gonna be that season that people see as terrible as time goes on. I've only liked All-Stars more and more as time goes on, I get why people hate it, but I think enough time has passed that even the cast themselves is (hopefully) over all the stuff that went down.
