After years of mocking my love of Survivor and never understanding the concept of this show "that doesn't even make sense!", Mr. C is officially hooked. Midway through last season he got reeled into the Mike edit and kept watching with me to see if he could make it the end. Despite knowing nobody on this season except for Joe, he's watched every episode with me so far and is pretty into it. Since I have Amazon Prime streaming on the Xbox, I randomly started going through seasons on it to see if he'd bite.

Started out with Cagayan, which was a no-brainer. He thoroughly enjoyed it. For reference, he absolutely loved Kass and... for whatever reason, rooted for LJ. Every time Spencer did a confessional he usually said "I hate that motherfucker" and he thought for sure Woo would beat Tony in the end.

Yesterday we marathoned through Panama, on a whim, cause I thought he would A) like Shane and/or B) enjoy Terry's Immunity run since it was similar to Mike's in World's Apart, which is what got him into the show. He wasn't as into this one at all and ended up hating Shane and kept calling Terry a dick. Turns out his favorite was Cirie, which took me by surprise.

Anyway I don't really trust my taste with this sort of thing and my memory of Survivor is mainly based on nostalgia and who I liked when they first aired, based off my fickle reasons for liking people when I was younger (they were black, they wore a hat backwards, they wore glasses, etc). So what would be a good season to show a clueless 60-year-old man?

And I guess we can just use this as a general "suggest a season" thread cause there isn't one.

Tocantins? Any season with Second Chancers?

Heroes vs Villains was what got me into the show.

Although I had previously been following the swedish version.

HvV might not be a bad idea. I find older people tend to forget faces and characters regardless of having seen a season before.

I kind of wanted to hold off on HvV until I got a couple of seasons in so that he'd at least recognize a few people. It'd ruin the charm otherwise. I'm having trouble figuring out who he'd even like in HvV.

Samoa. I wanna see if he roots for Brett's run and what he thinks of Hantz

South Pacific so he can enjoy Utah's very own Mormons Rick and Dawn

I would suggest a season like Australia but the game is so different now that he might not enjoy it as much since there isn't as much strategizing as the seasons you showed him. It has the original challenge beast though.

But yeah I agree with Tocantins. Always been an underrated season in my mind. Samoa would be cool too.

He actually watched Australia when it originally aired but he doesn't remember it at all.

I honestly have no idea who he will like on Samoa due to the weird edit, but I can tell you right now he will hate Hantz. I'm kind of scared that he'll like Shambo. He didn't even know Aras' name when he won Panama so I don't have much faith he'll root for Brett at all.
