A dark street in Gotham City:

He sat outside the house, waiting for its owner to leave.

He knew they were bad. They had to be.

As as soon as he caught them in the act, he'd take matters into his own hands.

This is odd. Nothing is happening. Maybe I was wrong.

Just then, someone caught his attention at the end of the street. Not what he was looking for, but could be worth checking out.

He watched the person turn down a side street, and he followed. When he reached the side street, the person had seemed to have vanished into thin air.

Even more odd, he thought. How can a person just disappear?



He didn't even see what hit him.

When he awoke, he found himself tied up in a giant coffee mug. He'd seen this before. The mug was part of Crespie's Coffee's new mechanical billboard.

Above him was the giant moving coffee pot, which was meant to look as if it was pouring a cup of coffee, every couple of minutes.

"People always talk about the dangers of too much caffeine," a voice said. "In your case though, I'd be more worried about the sulfuric acid."

"What are you on about?" he asked. "You need to let me go, right now!"

"I'm afraid that's not going to happen," the voice replied. "I've filled this coffee pot with sulfuric acid and when I flip this switch, you'll have exactly one minute before it pours onto you. I don't think I have to tell you what it will do to you."

"How can you even think that you'll get away with this!?!" he shouted at his captor.

"Because it's what I do," came the reply, and with that, the flip was switched and the coffee pot starting to tip.

Exactly 59 seconds later, the sulfuric acid poured from the coffee pot into the cup. He screamed as his skin burned.

Exactly 41 seconds after that, he was dead.

No idea. We also won't hear from him for a while, as he's not exactly on US time.

Apparently he's not a fan of days opening and ending in the middle of the night for him.
