I decided to give it it's own thread because I am playing it for real this time.

I wandered off the beaten path and I'm about 99% sure I found something I want supposed to find yet. Probably the biggest WTF moment in any game I've ever played.

It's also the reason I'm actually going to keep playing this time. This is nuts

I started earlier. It's so nice looking. I've barely done anything yet tho

I haven't done a single thing yet that I think I was meant to, but the things I've found so far are really interesting. There's a lot off the beaten trail.

Jeez, I just solved a big annoying puzzle only to realize that the solution might have been nearby the entire time. I'm also grateful for the achievements popping up at the bottom so I know when I can move on from different areas

I decided to stop for now because I got to a relatively good spot to break at I think. I probably won't continue for a while since I'm going back to school in the morning and probably can't run redux on my laptop to continue. Kinda sucks!

I think I actually made some story progress now. The writing is a little (: but it's very interesting.

I'm going to look up a bit of info about the place I'm in because there was something I skipped over and I need to know if I should do it in the morning so I don't forget it when I get back to playing.

Also holy shit this game is pretty. Apparently the creators used some method of scanning an actual irl town for this. If you Google Pilchowice there are photos of it.

Damnit, I was going to try to continue this just now, but unfortunately the game updated and took out my save :(

I looked just far enough ahead online to know I was over halfway to the ending and from what I can tell I hit all the optional stuff I could encounter to that point, so I'm kinda reluctant to start all over.

WAIT, NEVERMIND! It wasn't the update's fault. I forgot my dad arbitrarily moved my entire my documents folder to a different hard drive while I was at school. I still have the save. Gonna try it now

That ending was... I dunno what to think of it. One thing this game has going for it is the graphics. It's really amazing. Probably one of the best looking games I've seen, and the stories were really interesting too. I kind of feel like I wanted more out of this. It didn't quite hit the right notes story wise. The ending did resolve one of my complaints I had while I was playing though.

srsly theres not much reason to play if you get spoiled on the ending + I didn't really like Paul Prospero as a character. He was weirdly brooding and alluded a lot to his past cases without ever elaborating, butsince he was a character some 12 year old kid made up and never finished writing for, it makes sense that he wasn't fleshed out.

EDIT: I actually missed a few major points when I took my 2 week break. I forgot to go back to something. That might explain why the last part of the story felt so fast and MAYBE why it didn't have as much of a punch. The story still went on without me getting to those parts, though.

I also bought this yesterday because 3 bucks seemed like a steal. Graphics looked great and it seems like a good story game. I'm excited to get into it after I finish the game I'm currently playing.

YA It's pretty good! What Remains of Edith Finch blew every part of this out of the water while doing a lot of similar stuff but they're still two different stories with two different feels and $3 is definitely a steal

I have that on my wish list as well. But it is a little more expensive, so I will wait a bit before I get it. I will probably use this game as a test run to see if I enjoy it before I buy any more.

Ya good plan. I'd say if you don't end up enjoying this, it depends on what your issues with this are on whether you would like Edith Finch. This, Edith Finch and Firewatch are all pretty connected in my mind. A lot of similar themes in addition to all being walking sims.
