I think this is the first time in the whole show where I've been more interested in the Wall/far North plot than anything in King's Landing. It's just not the same without Tywin/Tyrion/etc there. The Cersei story for this season was actually one of my favorite plots in all of the books but I've been pretty underwhelmed with it so far this season. The show's reason for Margaery's arrest was kinda weird/forced |
I dunno how they're gonna reconcile that with Cersei's downfall now. There's not gonna be a Kettleblack to recant on anything, and it's not like Olyvar can take that place since Loras, y'know, actually did fuck him. Pretty disappointing that we're probably not gonna get the High Sparrow's "No" moment now. Unless Lancel is the one that confesses? I guess I could see that happening
I'm hoping we at least will still get Margaery telling off Cersei, though it's not gonna be quite the same since now Cersei only orchestrated Loras' imprisonment, not Margaery's. At least as far as we know I guess |
Jaime/Bronn vs Sand Snakes was pretty fun in a campy way. I lol'd when Uncle Jaime just comes strolling up to Myrcella out of nowhere in the Dornish outfit |
Why does Myrcella still have her ear tho! |

also they could've easily made that ending even more brutal if they would've stuck to Ramsay's wedding night from the books, but I can see why they didn't. It was bad enough since Sansa's the bride now

Just finished, Bronn is so fucked. I am angry ONCE AGAIN! Why do they keep killing off the great supporting characters?
Also Mr. Eko | |

Best part of the episode was Jorah reacting to the news about his father

Definitively.
Mr. Eko was lol. I hope he gets more screen time and isnt killed off in the next episode :(
Shits about to hit the fan in Kings Landing. Wonder what Olenna will do, she has some devious plan I am sure!
Tommen looks so hopeless as king! I like how he constantly has this confused look and doesnt know if he should follow his mother or his wife. He will probably get torn between the sides now, wonder if he will survive it!
The name of the episode kinda made me think we would get a lot of Dorne, but it really wasnt that much.
I wonder if any of the missing characters are going to pop up or if they are just going to let them be forgotten. Gendry has been sailing for a very long time now. The Blackfish is lost somewhere and Edmure as well. The whole Greyjoy family seems to be written off. Where is Beric Dondarrion? Rickon and Osha are in the wind somewhere. I also completely forgot about Benjen Stark until a few days ago, but that is more understandable as he went behind the wall!

For those who have read AFFC, is it likely this season will cover it all?
I am contemplating whether I should read it this summer but I dont want to surpass the show.

Some of the Dorne scenes seemed a bit unnecessary. Like Doran telling Areo that they need to protect Myrcella, well of course! That chick just told you she was going to torture and kill her...

I would say yes, it will, for the most part. There's already a generous amount of ADWD in this season, and due to them choosing to cut certain characters that had a big presence in AFFC, some are either not present at all (the truly bad ass Greyjoys) or have had their trajectory completely altered (Brienne and Sansa).
