Most of you probably know that my laptop situation has been SHIT for ages! My first one broke...in half. Then my dad bought me the exact same kind, and surprisingly, it also broke. Each lasted like two years. My current one broke halfway through this past summer and I stole Shawn's and have been using that ever since, but that means no photoshop etc etc.
Now that I'm working again/working too much, I've got enough saved up to buy a new one. I want a good one that'll last and will be a better fit for what I need it for than these last two. That means something that isn't slow as fuck and can handle photoshop and all that
I'm not a computer whiz so I'm not sure what I'm looking for here. THAT'S WHERE YOU COME IN! More RAM? Better graphics card I think? A good CPU apparently? And a large enough screen. I dunno all the SPECS that I'm looking for whatsoever and I know several of you do, so help would be appreciated
Here's a few that've been recommended:
MacBook Pro
Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p
ASUS ROG G750JM-DS71
ASUS N56VM-AB71
ASUS Zenbook
Kinda iffy on getting a Mac, I've just never liked the feel of them but I'm sure I'd get used to it. What about Ultrabooks? Apparently they're surprisingly capable for something like this
HELP PLEASE! I wanna order one really soon, like before the week ends. Any different suggestions/amazon links would be good too. ty ty

I'd say get an ASUS. If you want one that's good for gaming, get the one with the GTX graphics card. I'm hoping to save up for one of those to build myself a nice gaming desktop.
But the expensive one is probably the better one, but go for the ASUS.

Anything but the Mac, you're paying more for the same quality.

I have a computer very similar to this one.
Touchscreen is great with Windows 8. It will play games like LoL and WoW with pretty good fps and without overheating. Backlit keyboard, cam and mic obviously, all the fixins.
I haven't had any issues that I can think of off the top of my head.
Good brand, does everything you'd need it to, and not a bad price for everything you get.

15.6 inch screen (standard size usually, might have it in the 18 inch or whatever the next biggest is), i5 processor (if you want to pay a little extra there is a similar model with i7 processor and more gb of space)

Oh and 8gb of ram upgrade able to 16gb if you really need it.
I used to work in the computer department at Best Buy so I had to know a lot of this stuff obviously. xD

This, I've got an ASUS NV4 or something like that, with a graphics card that it's quite dated (GT 635M), and after about 2 years I'm still having no major issue with the laptop. It plays most games, but of course it'll be lagging in the current generation. | I used to travel the universe, but settled for parks.

A Surface Pro 3 is probably the coolest thing to get at the moment. They're expensive as hell though depending on the storage capacity you want and where you get them. But if you were thinking of a new Macbook Pro they're pretty similar in price so price probably isn't a big concern for you? Plenty of sites offer payment plans too. | A survivor becomes a leader...

I would recommend looking at Newegg when buying. I got my laptop there (a Toshiba) and I got a good deal on good specs.
