Thought I'd get a thread started since there was a few people talking about it in the hair thread.

I had actually stopped watching a few years back, picked it up sporadically (for like a few weeks) while I was in University, and started watching it back again the past few months.

I hated the fact Edge had to retire due to injury. He is probably my all time favourite, he was just amazing.

It's come a long way from when I used to watch it religiously. It's gone to total crap/stale. Not enough star power but that is their own fault for putting all their eggs in a select few baskets so I mostly just fast forward through the show hoping something will surprise me. Especially when they have the same wrestlers fight week in and week out, or just do those stupid champ with tag team vs challenge with tag team crap nowadays.

Should be getting interesting soon though, for the Royal Rumble coming up in a few months. Oh, and what the hell have they done to Kane? Jesus.

So for people who still watch, what do you think happens at Hell in a Cell?

Also, this is a good thing in the WWE:

I'm excited for Ambrose vs Rollins, and to see the crowd boo when Rusev destroys Big Show.

It's embarrassing what Kane became. Even when he feuded with Daniel Bryan earlier in the year with his mask and stuff again he was still a complete joke. Kane is low tier to me now, enough that I groaned when he was feuding with Bryan after Bryan's incredible Wrestlemania journey. It's sad because back in the day Kane being in a feud was awesome and he was a monster. Nothing they do can fix Kane now because anytime he does something we all can look back and say "Kane, you were a jobber with a bland personality, a yes man to the authority" and laugh him away. He's never going to hold a title in his hands again and serves little purpose than to be in matches no one is really interested in seeing in the first place. Filler matches.

Meanwhile Undertaker is treated with the utmost respect by WWE and his character is heavily protected. If you told a kid now that Kane was on the same level as the Undertaker he'd laugh at you and tell you to stop messing with him.

And Kane's been around for a while too. Isaac Yankem, lol. I stopped watching a long time ago. But every so often, I'll watch part of a segment on Raw when I'm channel-surfing. I don't know if they're still together, but I loved that they paired up Goldust and Cody Rhodes. And recently, I found the Stephanie McMahon/Bella Twin storyline (leading up to Summerslam?) interesting.

Cody Rhodes has vanished and Stardust has taken his place. I posted a pic of him in response to Nicole saying she liked Cody Rhodes lol. Stardust and Goldust ate the tag team champions right now, and heels.

Not actively watching but I do read a few things online to see how things are going. I've thought of getting along back but from what I've read it hasn't convinced me to.

Too bad the good old days are gone. Well they were kind of risky too, so I can't blame them for doing 'softer' stuff.
I used to travel the universe, but settled for parks.

They've gone the "softer" route by trying to appeal to a PG audience, which is ruining it to be honest. Also, the "diva's" division is mostly a joke now. When they had Trish and Lita and all of those women, that was good. Now it's just about their stupid reality show for the most part, and outside of the A.J Lee + new contender angle where they fight for the year. Now it's Paige, before that it was Kaitlyn.

As for Kane, even when they took off his mask originally a couple of years ago, he was a beast, it's sad to see what they've done to him now.

This is Kane, not whatever the hell they have now:

Lita was the best Diva in my opinion and for a while, the only reason I tuned into WWE programming. Some of the best stuff they had going on was when she was with the Hardy Boyz.

Old School, I loved the Ultimate Warrior, and for some strange reason Tito Santana. haha
Then I loved Owen Hart, Shawn Michaels, Goldust, Christian, Kane, and at various times the Undertaker, and Bret Hart, and of course Lita. When she left I became a fan of Eve Torres, even though I barely watched it at that point.

It was just as cheesy in the late 80s, early 90s as it is today, but it feels like it was so much better because of the nostalgia.

ooo I was also I loyal Miz fan. What is going on with him?

the top things I hate about WWE and why I stopped watching
1. They push the same people over and over and over again.
2. The whole trying to bring the rock thing back pissed me off so much
3. John Morrison getting fired. #RIP
4. The matches/storylines got repetive and lasted way too long.
5. The good talent never got into main events. It was like they only used people who were good on the mic and never actually did anything with the good wrestlers.

I'd watch it a lot more if
1. The King of the Ring tournament came back. I loved that sooo much.
2. Royal Rumble is always one of my favorites.
3. Tag teams need to go.

idk my 2 cents it may not be relevant :P

The Miz is currently in a hollywood star gimmick that's quite funny and feuded with Ziggler, who is the intercontinental champion, having won it from The Miz. Now Miz is feuding with Sheamus for the US title.

Damien Sandow is the Miz's stuntdouble, Mizdow, and sometimes fights his matches for him which may lead to a storyline where Sandow wins the title one day and refuses to hand it to Miz, giving Sandow a face turn. Mostly though Mizdow mimics everything the Miz does and it's hilarious. He fights invisible opponents at ringside doing everything Miz does in the ring and mimics him during promos talking on the mic too.

I agree with most of your points. Though I think we're seeing a lot of new talent rise up pretty quickly at the moment, even if some people have been wasted so far (Cesaro). He's an example of someone who is AMAZING on the mic but doesn't get much to do. He's going to face Ziggler for the IC title tomorrow. There's also NXT on the WWE Network with a ton of awesome up and coming talents who are building up big fan bases before they even step foot into the main roster. NXT is slowly becoming a brand of its own, some would argue it is already. They have better matches than Raw and Smackdown actually.

Right now the most over guys are members of the Shield, a faction, who all came from NXT. They split up with one going heel after they initially feuded with Evolution. One member is primed to face Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 31 for the title and the other is currently feuding with the heel of the trio and main eventing the Hell In a Cell PPV tomorrow. They've had the best rivalry storyline of the year so far. Dean Ambrose, the face facing Seth Rollins, the heel, is being compared to Steve Austin and is going to be a huge, huge superstar soon. He arguably already is with him having the crowd behind him and being in the biggest storyline at the moment outside of Brock Lesnar, who is a part timer and only fights a few PPV's a year.

Guys, I'm seriously considering buying a Wrestlemania 31 package that includes ringside seating, hotel, transport, access to the promotional stuff, etc. It's in San Francisco and the hotel is for 4 days and I hear San Francisco is awesome.

Agree 100%

Right now it's like John Cena vs. *insert heel*, although I do like Randy Orton, just not in his current role. I want him to be the good bad guy, the guy who doesn't listen to anyone but is still a babyface. Bring back the legend killer. I hope to god he turns on "The Authority" soon, and it might happen sooner or later.

Also, I would much rather see Randy Orton vs. Brock Lesnar than John Cena vs Lesnar.

I love the Royal Rumble, especially when a guy who hasn't wrestled in a while makes a comeback/comes back from injury, etc. I remember I watched it a few years ago when Edge came back, that was simply amazing.

and tag teams suck in general nowadays. I thought they were building something a few weeks ago with Mark Henry and Big Show but they quickly abandoned that and had them feud with Rusev separately.

Also, apparently they've been grouping Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods together and from what people have said, they are great together. Why can't they put them on TV together.

Tim, I would do the Wrestlmania package if I had the money, sounds awesome, if the matches were well developed though.

I also miss the fact that they took Money in the Bank out of Wrestlemania and made it it's own PPV.
