I don't know why but I recently grew a clit and have become sensitive to any games that involve war, especially ones that emulate actual wars.
Are there any good first-person games where you're not killing soldiers? I can deal with Halo and Bioshock since it's fantasy, but I'd prefer something a little less traditional. Post-apocalyptic is kind of overdone at this point too.
Essentially I'm asking for underrated first-person (doesn't have to be shooter) games that I can find on Steam tyia.
Also, I already play Portal.

This also can be used by other people but I'm good with it just being used for me.

Also if you have Steam and you have not yet played Gone Home, I would highly recommend it. It's kind of like a very well-done "escape the room" game. I wouldn't buy it if your'e going to be one of those people who just youtubes the solution.

Skyrim: First person, the only war is medieval style fantasy war, you can ignore the war stuff entirely and chase butterflies all day
I really can't think of any others off the top of my head since you mentioned Bioshock and Portal and you sorta nixed post-apocalyptic, but if you're willing to go with something thats not first person and is post-apocalyptic, Telltale's The Walking Dead games are good | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

Left4Dead2 was my life for two years. I broke up with a girl because she took time away from playing it.
I miss the good old days.

OH there's the Stanley Parable. It's a bit overpriced and not exactly a GAME in the traditional sense but its a very fun experience. I recommend it if you get it on sale | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

Also Oblivion/Skyrim and Fallout 3/New Vegas for sure, but they're not exactly underrated gems. Also I assume most people have played them but if not, get on that shit son.
I'll echo the Walking Dead shoutouts too even though it doesn't fall any under any of the criteria you asked for. |

L4D2 is my life and will always be my life. I will not admit my total hours.
I actually just watch The Walking Dead games on youtube and I enjoy it more than playing them. I don't know why. I am thinking about that Wolf game that Boc and KC like.
I might get Stanley Parable when it's on sale. I recently went to one of those real-live Escape the Rooms when I was in Thailand and doing the virtual thing will never be the same for me as getting to yell at my mother for not holding the right buttons on the wall to open the fireplace.
I am going to look heavily into this cleanup detail game it looks promising.
Rose I tend to have an addictive personality so I am concerned for my mental health when it comes to Skyrim. What if that interrferes with my alcohol addiction?

I play Borderlands now and again. I was unfortunately born with a hipster gene that makes me dislike things that my friends praise.
I have Civ 5 but I cannot get into for the life of me. I did the tutorial and there were like 60 things in 5 minutes that I had to master and then I got invaded in the fucking tutorial when I still didn't even know how to find the fucking cows. Ugh.
Has anyone played Syberia? It's $2.50 right now on Steam and it has an 82 Metascore.

Oh, Civ made me think of this: TROPICO is a fun game. It's a pretty simple game to pick up | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

Yeah Wolf Among Us is pretty kul, although there are LP's of that up on YT too if you prefer just watching. Nothing beats experiencing them yourself though, they're pretty personal games.
I was joking about Viscera Cleanup Detail (: Although admittedly I never played it because it runs like shit on my PC. I watched a stream of it and thought it was hysterical. It's definitely a game you need friends to play with though, it's basically Janitor Simulator. |
